I had wanted to do something special for myself since today is also my birthday and now that I have a self-insert...the stars just kind of aligned in that way. This is probably the best thing I've done yet. I leveled up with rendering, which ig is my true b-day gift to myself <3
I drew her with magnolias cuz those are one of my top three favorite flowers. Low-key, this kind of looks like the cover for a fantasy manga/webcomic so I'll definitely be doing a few different fantasy aus for them at some point in the future. It's too tempting not to, and I am weak 😌
● Is super clingy with Verde. She'll wrap her whole body around him and cuddle, demand to hold his hand, and whine when he tries to leave the room. A big part of it is her anxiety over not being able to protect him, but tbh, she's also just like that when sick.
Its to the point that Verde can't get up to take care of her or fetch a small project to work on while watching her. (And yes, he is smitten enough to not abandon her in her time of need for his lab 💚 But that level of caring is special person only privileges. He's not normally that nice.)
● She likes a mix of comfort food and sick day foods when she doesn't feel well. Chicken noodle soup, mac and cheese, crackers, ginger ale, tea, ect.
Verde of course can't get her any of these things. He's stuck. But at the very least he has robots and ig other staff he can ask to fetch them things. Tho he prefers the robots more times than not. (I don't think he likes feeling like he has to je debt to people. Especially since he seems to be the type that likes to repays his debts.)
● Obviously, Faye is wearing pajamas. The most comfortable, probably worn ones she has. And fluffiest of socks. Fuck looking cute for Verde, if her pants have a hole in the bottom or if her tee shirt if faded and has a cat on ot, she doesn't care. (Verde thinks its cute anyways and is adding the new clothes he sees her in to his Faye file. Yay to Verde learning things 🎉)
● She's a bit of a workaholic, but being sick Faye can't work. So she watches movies and tv shows, with Verde as her pillow of course 😌 (Movie choices are a mix of classic Disney movies, superhero movies, anime, ect. They're both nerds. And even if Verde hasn't seen something he gets sucked into fairly easily. Especially when he doesn't have a project to work on.)
● By the time Faye feels better it's time for her to take care of Verde. He caught her cold lmao XD
The ultimate Ver715 song because of how desperate and lost and shattered it sounds. For someone like Verde falling, and falling hard, for someone is the one of the worst things that could happen to him. I think he's someone who's been burnt a lot in past with all different types of love and so he does his best to remain cold, unfeeling, and ultimately safe.
No matter how careful he is, he still can't avoid falling in love. He is, however, extremely stubborn about it. But eventually I think he recognizes that Faye is just as lost, and if they are to survive the dangers that is their own hearts then they'll need each other.
Below is a breakdown of the lyrics and how I interpret them in the context of Ver715. Lyrics are of course all by Florence + The Machine.

This is the hopelessness and desperation and frustration that tears through Verde all at once. His world has been shattered, and he's left blinding grasping at feelings he's ignored and buried for so long his sudden crush on Faye feels too much, and he can't help but to blame her for that. Despite the fact she's oblivious to his turmoil and feelings at first.
And in the dark
I can hear your heartbeat
I tried to find the sound
But then it stopped
And I was in the darkness
So darkness I became
This is where Verde starts to find some form of acceptance in the fact that he does love Faye. He finds her presence soothing and she's quickly become a subject of interest for him. However, he's realizing he doesn't know how she feels for him and that's another terrifying possibility. He could lose her, not to death, but to someone else. Suddenly he is overcome with petty things like fear and jealously. He has lost himself to darkness that comes with love.

And so, he's back to feeling desperate and frustrated and he hates it. Faye has left in total darkness, with no hints of her having feelings for him or anyone really. He feels trapped and alone and so scared she'll slip through his fingers. The one thing he's coming to understand is he can't lose her.

Confession time! And this is where Verde realizes Faye is just as lost and shattered and desperate and frustrated as he is. That they're both in this maddening thing called love together and is just as blind as he is on how to navigate it. But she is also now his, or could be, and so he chooses to stay in love and in the darkness, it brings him, with her.

Tbh I just imagine things like desperate kisses during this part. They can finally stop being idiots yay! Except they're still idiots because falling in love has completely shattered them and now they have to rebuild themselves and each other. Or try to. They've still got a ways to go. But now they can kiss each other <3
Now to talk about the art <3:
This took way too long and was probably way too ambitious, but I LOVE how it came out. Just the details, the fact both designs are based around celestial bodies. Somehow the background turned out looking really good too. Idk I just love this and I'm glad I got to finish it even if it came fashionably late.

8. What would it take for them to break up?
Uhhhh idk if they would. Both are pretty attached. Ig maybe if someone threatened Verde’s life. No clue why someone would want Faye to break up with Verde but if it was to save him she would.
Verde would absolutely rage tho. What do you mean the object of his interest is suddenly breaking it off? That's his bodyguard. He put a bomb in her head. Where does she think she's going?!
Ig Verde could also lose interest but like *points at Faye willingly letting Verde pit a bomb in her head* idk of he would. She does tend to surprise him more times than not.
12. Do they argue often? About what?
Does pinning Verde to a wall and holding a knife to his throat demanding he get along with Reborn and anyone else who's stronger than her count as an argument? Because she's done that before. And won.
Tbh I don't think theu argue often. If theu do it'll usually have to do with a conflict of interests: Faye thinking something as too dangerous and forbidding Verde from doing it. And Verde's curiosity getting the better of him so he stands his ground or even attempts sneaking around tondo the dangerpus thing. (Most often its an experiment. Verde’s not really into danger but I can see that override his common sense to some degree.)
13. Are there any regrets or unresolved issues between them?
Faye's insane loyalty. Verde's always wanted a bodyguard who would be endlessly loyal and discsrd any care pf their own well being for his own. But he didn't expect to fall in love so he high key regrets wanting that. Even worse is Faye risks him exploding her head by threatening him to insure his safety.
So yeah, Verde is having some issues with that.
As for Faye...hmmmm anytime Verde gets hurt, even if its just a scratch is seen as a failure. If there's something she regrets it wasn't being good enough to protect him.

Welcome to my humble abode. I’m not the best when providing crumbs, so this is more like half a cookie maybe, XD. Hopefully it's enough to give you an idea of what Verde/Faye is like and keep you satisfied until I release more information (and art because I enjoy drawing both these characters too much). 1.) Their ship shorthand would be Ver715 and 715Ver. The order doesn't matter for them tbh, but Ver715 visually looks better to me so that's probably the one you'll see me use the most.
(And yes, Faye's handle is officially 715. I used my birth month + day for it. Since she’s an si I felt like it should be something highly personal and I have too many fave numbers thus I went the easy route so I could avoid some hard choices, Fun fact tho, I’m a lover of all odd numbers so this makes me extremely happy. The only even numbers I like are 8 and 0)

2.) Their tropes are a mix of scientist/bodyguard, slow burn, freak4freak, denial/oblivious (until both reach a breaking point that shatters them 😈 ), lord/knight, tall/short, and probs many others I can't think of rn
3.) Verde's the one in denial. Like it still takes time for him to fall for Faye but the minute he realizes he's gained feelings™️ he ends up being salty af about it and maybe a little self destructive in the way he tries to prove to himself he doesn't have feelings. He mostly does that by involving her in experiments but he always chickens out when things start to turn dangerous
Whenever Faye does get injured protecting him, Verde will actually internally freak out and fuss over her. He treats all her wounds and eventually walks around with a first aid kit. Cuz like being Verde's bodyguard is actually a dangerous job. So many people are trying to kill or kidnap him and Faye is often in the way of that.
She takes her job of protecting Verde a little too seriously tbh. She'll literally take punches and bullets for him, and will point a gun at any kind of threat even if it's just a joke. She takes any type of threat seriously even if it isn't serious—she doesn’t take chances. Girl has no chilll and it does cause trouble sometimes and even impacts her relationships with others. (This is why her relationships in regards to the other Arcobaleno is so interesting to me. But like that's a whole other post.) She's also not afraid to threaten Verde for his own good either. (Which is just a delicious moment, but again a post for another time)
4.) They aren't big on pda. Both can get flustered easily when doing that kind of thing. That said, will still do some things/ they have their moments.
Things they like to do but may or may not do in public include:
Verde kissing Faye's hand/the back of her knuckles whenever he can. These are the hands that protect him so of course he’ll cherish them.
As for Faye, she likes checking his pulse. Feeling his heartbeat on her finger tips is soothing and when cuddling she'll usually put her ear over his heart or even just lay a hand on that area of his chest.
Both will princess/bridal carry the other. For Faye its more part of her job. If she realizes danger is near and it might be too much for her to handel on her own, she’ll pick Verde up and run. She’s stronger than she looks XD
As for Verde, this doesn’t happen often, Faye hates being carried and needs to be coaxed into letting him do this in the first place, but when she allows this Verde will take the opportunity every chance he gets. And he will be smug about it!
Faye actually does find that she somewhat likes being picked up by Verde. He’s tall enough that she feels pretty secure in his arms. That said, her fave way to be carried is the koala carry. It provides the most security while also ensuring she has some control on if she falls or not. But also she can bury her face in the crook of Verde’s neck and cuddle.
As for 100% that’s definitely pda they’re doing—yeah they’ll hold hands. Like I said they aren’t big on it so something small like holding hands is their preferred. It doesn’t seem to draw as much attention as other methods of pda.

It captures the helplessness and desperation of them perfectly. They’re the type of ship where love has absolutely shattered their worlds and now they have to learn to adapt to everything because everything they knew about themselves has been rewritten. Or at least that’s their general vibe.
