can you explain more about your mandalorian oc? who's niko?? what are the space walkers??? i'm really curious!!

sure thing! so space-walkers were an imperial made organization. they’re basically an extremely high tech “bounty hunters” like they’ll get paid a lot of money to kill, capture, steal, destroy whatever/whoever. they have a lot of unique weapons, spacesuits ( idk if you’ve ever seen the new star trek films but this is relatively how i vision them x ), spaceships, etc. space-walkers are known for being e x t r e m e l y emotionless due to the brutal training and brain/mind enhancing so they wouldn’t show any weaknesses. they live by a very strict code as well. whoever breaks it, dies immediately. no questions asked, no trial to be held, nothing. since they were part of the empire, most of the members in the organization either died or were in hiding when the empire fell.

so my oc, alivera zander, was a space-walker. she has no recollection of anything from her past such as family, friends, home planet, date of birth, etc. her life only revolved around the organization, that was it.... until she ends up breaking a code. what does she do, i’m not quite sure as of yet bc i’m still debating. anyways, no one survives breaking a code and being on the run from the space-walkers for long. so for like about four years, she’s managed to stay alive bc she’s smart and knows what to do/not to do so she wouldn’t get caught.

niko,,, is a complicated oc. i have a habit of creating side ocs too early in the game so im not quite sure what his purpose is rn. it’s hard with the direction i want vera to go in, but im pretty good with having an open mind when it comes to ideas so i know i can think of something to possibly keep him around. sorry that’s such a blah answer, but i need to figure out these details before i can give you something in depth lol.

What about loving!Vera awakens guilt in him?

Seeing true rage brought forth by love. He’s never had that, therefore never understood it, and now he’s witnessing it.

It’s worse than any torture he’s ever faced before, and that realization alone is what triggers pure overwhelming guilt. Vera’s hatred is brought on by passion and love for her daughter, and for the first time Quill has no doubt that he deserves this. That belief setting in quicker is what helps along his breaking.

tell me everything about “under cotton and calicos”

BAHAHAHA so, essentially, alex is lawyer-ing it up in nyc and his new neighbor has a very cute little calico cat who likes to jump over to his balcony. they pass notes back and forth about her tenacious wandering. i actually wrote most of what i do have on a flight, and this was brainstormed in the brownstone. here’s a silly fun snippet:

The calico’s tail swishes, ears flexing as it meanders closer across his railing; the railing that is five stories above the ground, holy fuck, Alex cannot watch this.

He reaches out a hand, making the little tsking noise with his tongue that he’s heard other people do. Alex has never had a cat or a dog. He has no clue what the fuck he’s doing. “C’mere, sweetheart, you’re making me nervous.”

Curiously, the calico comes closer, lowering its head to sniff at Alex’s fingers. Whatever assessment it makes seems to be in his favor as it pushes its face into his palm, heterochromatic eyes closing in contentment.

For a moment, his worry fades away. So fucking cute. Then Alex remembers why he reached out in the first place and slowly comes closer, giving the cat chin scratches all the while. It starts to purr just as he picks it up, holding it close against his faded Georgetown crewneck. It spooks just a bit, staring up at him with wide, betrayed eyes before it reevaluates and starts purring again, pushing its head into his chest.

“I don’t think cats are supposed to be this friendly,” he murmurs to himself, rebalancing his arms to hold it in one. It’s happy to soak up the attention, not squirming much as he uses his newly freed hand to read the tag on its collar.

The etching shines: Elizabeth. Who the fuck names their cat Elizabeth?

☆ every space-walker has their own special weapon they always carry. vera has a blade that is laced with either a poison or toxin ( not sure yet ) that works very quickly and it’s easier for her to take down her enemies. and yes, she uses it on din when she tries to capture him.
