So anyway, another thing I noticed in the context of Netflix only giving the get down one season n then giving sense 8 a 2 hour wrap up; on the sense 8 slider/fade ad, they have two white cis probably het ppl with a Latino cis gay man way in the back, PLUS a white cis man in the front and taking up most of the screen. I mean? Hierarchy of scale anyone? Plus most of all a complete absence of black n dark skin ppl so l i k e!! SECOND OF ALL, the get down doesn't even have a sliding advertisment up when Netflix goes to sleep so that's also fucked up Oh lol so it's unspoken but I'm fucked up about the anti-black racism n white supremacy playing out in the little things n the institution known as Netflix n the broader film industryyyy//it's the little details that show ur damn racist biases

Being a patriot to me is heavily associated with racism and imperialism (among other things). Can’t ever imagine myself saying “I’m patriotic” cus it’s like I’m aligning myself w/ those ideals and???

I feel like the Flash would be a champion of mental health. He would be in an interview on some talk show, and someone is going to cross a line talking about one of the recent villains flash captured. He’d be all, “woah woah woah, back up” and start talking about how every person, even the baddest villains, are people. Course this opens up some morality discussions over things that have happened, but ultimately he lays down that bottom line and continues to go on bringing awareness to issues of mental health.

Okay but like. A companion who is an activist or a big deal civil rights lawyer or something big and pivitol in current social justice spheres, but then some weird shitty alien thing happens, and in order for their lives to be saved they get whisked away with the doctor. The person gets caught up in the magic of it all, but then is like shit doctor this is cool and all but I gotta get back. They try to go back, but of course TARDIS shenanigans puts them off course. But like, the TARDIS always puts you where you are needed most, and so with every other episode it's not the doctor who's needed, it's this companion!! Their brilliance and expertise having to to with human rights/conscious beings rights comes into play often. They're always trying to get back home because there are people back there that also need this. (Towards the end of the arc, they're trying to get back for an important trial, but time is wonky n they miss it.)

Ohhhhhhh today is nostalgia. Today is pain and regret. But finally, finally, I think I'm ready to take steps forward again. (Its never been for lack of try, but in the last two or three years I've self sabotaged so so much.) I want to do things, create, be with and around ppl, I want to write and draw and build a trajectory that when I look back, I can say look how far I've come, and keep going forward. I can't stop now. I won't.

I guess I'll make this a traditional blog post lol. This really isn't for ppl that I know, so maybe stop reading now.

Just trying to sit in the bitterness, the loneliness. Trying to reconcile with my past. I was going to name things n ppl but of course whenever I do make posts, I shy away haha. I'll just leave it at, I'm missing my sister so badly, past present and future.
