Yep! I mean, I’ll be honest, it’s mainly just my tagging preference to give everyone a surname, but “Vera NHS” just wasn’t cutting it. Besides, we’ve never been explicitly told that Synths take the surname of their primary user. The mere concept of them having surnames is illogical anyway, but Anita calling herself “Anita Hawkins” gave me my precedent. And that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s because her primary user is Joe Hawkins. They very specifically had her naming conversation in a family setting (even though Sophie, her name-giver, was around in her very first scene) so I’m operating under the assumption that Synths take the surname of the household. Vera was assigned to the Millican household. Ergo, I’m calling her Vera Millican. Like it or lump it, I don’t much mind ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

Niska would probably despise being tied to the Elster surname, and nothing has ever been said about any of them other than Leo, who has a birth certificate, actually being Elsters, but I see a lot of people referring to them as Niska, Max, Mia and Fred Elster and nobody quibbles that. 

Also, it is kind of in keeping with the tone of Anja’s post of appreciation, n’est-ce pas? 

I think if George is going to start grave-turning he’ll have a lot more serious issues to roll about than what I headcanon Vera’s name designation to be :D
