Sephora Collection Color Switch By Vera Mona Brush Cleaner
I’ve had my eye on the Sephora Collection Color Switch By Vera Mona Brush Cleaner, so this is by no means new to the beauty community. For awhile, I’ve been curious about it, but skeptical. When using powders, I clean my brushes on a towel I keep in front of me. It works, so how much better can it be? I can’t remember what it was that finally got me to give in, but I’m so glad I did because I’m…
Soooo i’m super late on this one guys (please forgive me) but a little while ago I promised you a review on a new bit of kit I got for myself, The Vera Mona ProBand
The Proband is a great little edition to any makeup kit if you need to clean and disinfect brushes on the go. It fits comfortably around the fore-arm and can be teamed with a spray brush cleaning disinfectant to rid brushes of any contaminants, bacteria or excess product without having to use yards of tissue or muslin cloth.
My preferred brush cleaning fluid is isopropyl alcohol (IPA for short) and found that I was able to get my brushes cleaned and ready to go to the usual high standard I hold my kit to in a much shorter amount of time. Any powder based products were lifted right off the brushes saving alot of time in the cleaning process. Once the excess product had been removed from the brush, I was able to spray down liberally with IPA and then leave a minute or two to dry.
I can't imagine it would work particularly well with Liquid based products simply because it would permanently contaminate the sponge on the band.
As for cleaning the Proband itself and keeping it sterilised I found the easiest way was to clean it off with hot water and Johnsons baby shampoo then left it to dry overnight. Once dry I applied IPA again just to make sure it was 100% sterilised.
If you're on the go a lot and need a quick way to keep your brushes clean and ready to go this is definitely a good way to go. Likewise if you're just looking for a way to clean excess product off your brushes when doing your own makeup (maybe you aren't at a stage where you have a million and one brushes just yet) this is a good option.
I hope this has been helpful and remember if you have any questions about anything I haven't touched on above feel free to message me and i'll do my best to answer you
