   ‘ i  ,  delphine—  i  can’t  dance , ’    he  objected  to  no  avail  ,  hands  placed  rather  awkwardly  as  did  his  stance  ,  brows  already  furrowed  in  concentration.    to  his  defense  ,  his  body  was  not  built  for  gracefulness  ,  but  to  know  that  dancing  were  just simple  movements  placed  in  succession  irked  him  more  than  it  should  have.   ‘ my  bad…  ’   he  apologized  ,  a  small  lopsided  curve  to  his  lips  as  he  spoke.    he    did    warn  her.

                  ‘    don’t say that ! ’    lips curved softly into a smile,  encouraging as well as amused,  as fingers gently gripped his hand on her hip to reposition it correctly before resuming place on his shoulder.   the weight of his foot on hers for a moment made her eyelashes flutter,   before renewed cheer as she took the slow step back,    counting out the beats aloud.     dancing felt smooth,   pacifying    and she yearned to just close her eyes,    let the music glide her across.     ‘   come on,    it all just take practice.   one   two   three...  ’
