This Here Is Not Singing I’m Just Screaming In Tune
Verdandi walks across Haligan with Liam at her back. Since the raid, she’s been on-edge, but Liam’s presence helps. Getting away from the other rebels will probably help even more, which is why she’s leading him up to the old watchtower that’s become their spot.
Scars
Verdandi props herself up on her elbow, looking down at Liam. Behind her, the fire still burns merrily, casting flickering light across the otherwise-empty room.
“We should get a proper bed,” she says with a soft laugh. At the moment, their only “furniture” is their bedrolls, currently spread before the fire, and the blankets tangled around their legs.

“Why did you think he’d try?” Verdandi tilts her head. “Was that a risk?”
Take A Break (pre-raid)
Verdandi looks down at the sword in her hand, debating the wisdom of sharpening it yet again. The cloud of stress hanging over both herself and Liam is almost a visible thing, and all at once she decides they need to take a break. A couple hours won’t make a difference at this stage in raid planning; it may actually be a benefit.
She pokes her head through the doorway. “Liam?”

“I guess it’s another thing to practice, right?” Verdandi asks, leaning in close again. She pauses, looking up at him. “I won’t force you to do anything, though.”
Are You Alright?
Verdandi sways on the spot, trying to keep both herself and Liam upright. “Let’s go home,” she whispers, starting off towards William’s. As is becoming the norm, the man himself isn’t home when she stumbles over the threshold with Liam. “Are you hurt?” she asks in an undertone.
New Developments
Verdandi scrambles into one of Liam’s havens, where he can hide away from most of the rebellion. Luckily, he’s in the one she tried first. “Liam!” she pants, skidding to a stop. “I... we need to talk. Right now.”
Desperate For Answers
After the debriefing, Verdandi wanders aimlessly around Haligan for a time, thinking over everything that had been said. Eventually, her feet take her to the house that Darien is staying in, and she bites her lip. Nala had said he might be able to help...
She takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.
