Verdandi and Dean have a relationship that is far different than any relationship Verdandi has ever had. The two share a bond that only the two can have, but that doesn't make things easier for the pair; as a matter of fact it makes it all the more difficult. 

Often, as in more times than not, Verdandi will blurt something about about Dean and the parts of himself he keeps closed off, and that usually creates some sort of tension. However beneath that tension is a genuine understanding, one that that they both are there for each other. Both are there to provide a form of support they can't get anywhere else, because of the bond they have -- the understanding of one another.

Dean is the first friend Verdandi has had, on Asgard and otherwise, that she feels she can truly relate to. While it is refreshing, it is new to her and she fears messing it up. A strained relationship, with great potential, is where they are now. One day, the Norn hopes that the understanding they have of one another will come to be a strong bond. Until that day she patiently waits, being there to lend support and an ear for listening.
