🧗♂️🚨Long caption alert!🧗♂️🚨 I have been climbing on and off for 14 years. The thing about climbing is that it's a use-it-or-lose-it sport. Every time you take a break you start again. So even though I have three know-how, every time I start I have to retrain my muscles on how it works. But I LOVE it! Even in a gym, climbing makes me feel like I'm a kid exploring Central Park. I broke my arm in a bouldering competition when I was 13 (shortly after that last picture was taken) and I still wanted to keep climbing. This month I actually joined a gym and have been climbing regularly and I'm actually excited to go work out. I'm less pressured to push myself too hard because I can always come back tomorrow. I'm more focused on the stuff I need to do outside of the gym. I don't want to overstate it, but joining a gym has probably been the best decision I made all year. I only wish I'd done it sooner. This weekend I climbed in my second ever competition. I came in 19th out of 28. It's not a super high score, but I'm still so glad to climbing. Guys! Come climb with me! I love it! And I'd love if you loved it too! #climbing #rockclimbing #gymclimbing #bouldering #verdigoboulders #touchstone #touchstoneclimbing #touchstoneclimbingseries #climbon #onbelay #climbaway #letsgo [Image descriptions 1st image: A crowded gym with blue climbing walls and dozens of people looking up at or climbing different problems. 2nd image: Rachel climbing on a gray and white wall, wearing a gray Verdigo Boulders shirt and blue shorts. 3rd image: A list of names and scores, towards the bottom "19.
