So in order to get more comfortable in the shoes of my newest OC aka ‘Venus Argent’ I decided to write up a couple one-shots just for myself. So feel free to enjoy reading this if you would like a little peak into the Eat Your Heart Out universe that is going to be my latest fic, or u can ignore it an keep scrolling! C: I’ll include a little summary too ‘cuz why not.

Her mother is too busy unpacking to go grocery shopping, her sister is out with her new friends, and her dad is no where to be found as usual. Venus Argent stumbles across a werewolf in the grocery aisles, unknowingly making friends with her families enemy.

I met Derek Hale, local leather-wearing, bad boy of the werewolf variety, in the aisles of Stop’n Shop on a Friday night at 10:03PM.

My vibrant red locks were wet from the shower and reeking of my watermelon shampoo in a way that made my own nose flare pleasurably, and they were all shoved in a rather unladylike bun due to my haste. In all of my glory, I wore neon pink sweatpants, and a tank top featuring Reptar from the children’s show Rugrats.

Normally, I wouldn’t be caught dead out looking like this, but it was late, and with a joint waiting for me rolled beneath my pillow, I was in a no-fucks-given kind of mood to just get this done.

Cat food, Ice cream, red-bull, ice...

Striding down the aisles with my boots squeaking against the tile, I scanned my grocery list. Mom herself was in her nightgown and unpacking boxes, in no mood to drive to the store, Dad was MIA like always at night (honestly I think he’s cheating,) and Ally went to a sleepover with her new best friend. 

So onward I shop.

Its when I’m looking at my list and checking it twice that my cart collides straight into another, with a loud clang, For years I have hated my uncharacteristic clumsiness, but when I look up at the man I’ve hit, suddenly I’m thanking the gods for the flaw.

From his panty-wetting blue eyes to his unshaven stubble and his leather jacket, the man before me belonged in a Calvin Klein ad and I was this close to proposing on the spot.

Take him home and smoke your joint with him a little nasty voice in my head drawled he looks like a snack, we could have fun with him. I ignore the dirty suggestion my conscience offers up and instead apologize.

“I-I’m sorry” I stutter while trying to steel my gaze and keep eye contact with the beautiful man in an attempt to proclaim my self-confidence despite the situation “I’d like to say this doesn’t happen a lot, but I’m not very aware of my surroundings.”

Then, I literally see his nostrils flare and his eyes shoot to my hair, and then down to my pants, and then to my shirt. When they land on the green reptar’s that litter my chest, his perfect and very kissable lips actually turned upward.

His little amused smile made butterflies devour me insides out and I couldn’t help the pride roaring up.

“It’s uh, it’s alright, there are worse things than bumping into a pretty girl in a grocery store.”

Did he just call me pretty? 

“Wow you just complimented me” I couldn’t help but fan my quickly reddening cheeks “sorry, you’re just totally out of my league” gotta’ keep it real ya’ know?

He laughed! Actually laughed.

“Oh my god” I’m sure my eyes turned to literal hearts in this moment, we were having a moment! “I think I’m gonna flat-line.”

The man moved his cart, going to make his exit, but before I could feel disappointed he placed a hand on my shoulder and gave me one of the warmest grins I had ever seen. I literally shivered.

“Derek Hale, It was nice to meet you. Hopefully I’ll see you around again.”

So friendly, so handsome, good god I can die happy.

“Venus Argent, pleasure’s all mine.”
