yeah i feel like it's essentially the same mindset as the whole "manic pixie girls" mindset bc it really is that whole "oh this girl is into the same weird shit as i am, we must be soulmates" kinda thing. like with jordan guys see her green hair and like pokemon shirts and be like "yaaaaaaaaaaaa" but LITERALLY JUST BC SHE'S INTO WEIRD SHIT THAT DOESNT MEAN YOU NEED TO MARRY HER. im sorry man. i dont mean to say that a lot of guys are like this, and i understand girls are like this too. and i think it stems from all the bullshit romcom media we're fed of ya know having a single soulmate in this whole world and also some people are just shallow and assume personality traits off of appearance, if you will, and think that they're not being vapid or superficial just because they';re not basing their infatuation on physical attractiveness or whatever.
overall it's just demeaning. individuality is really important to every single person. and when people assume shit about you and then develop deep infatuations over shit they're just making up, it kinda erases identity and is also just overall creepy.
