This wasn't the first time he climbed a tree. He's been doing it quite more often, in fact, since he's arrived in the city. But this was the first time he lost balance, standing on a rather flimsy branch without noticing and landing on the ground below.
Ouch. The odd gray-colored paths sure felt different from the grass or dirt paths he was acquainted to. Falling face-first, it was sheer luck that he didn't have much injury other than a large scratch on the side of his cheek and on parts of his limbs where he hit the ground.
Flinching and straightening himself out to a sitting position on the ground, he found his body ached in some other places as well. On cue, fireflies came flying about him in broad daylight, gathering where his injuries are. He's had worse injuries but at the amount of fireflies that gathered about him, he must have looked like a wreck.
