but i'm having an issue with the fact that i don't have any kind of visual notification besides the top bar when i get a message and that i have to go into the messaging system and can't just go from the home screen to a new message???

like, is there anyway to get a thing that pops up saying "you have a text!" that takes up the entire screen or something that DOESN'T involve downloading an app?

because on my old phone if i had a message it would show me a little popup with an envelope and who it was from and the options "read now" or "read later" and i could either go directly to it or have to go into the messaging folders later but after i'd definitely seen that the message existed

and that's essentially what i want just so i don't wind up missing stuff
