Incognito
They were not very happy to see each other, and this is understandable, they did not part in the best way and each held a grudge against the other. Captain Nemo stands with his arms crossed, silently and coldly looking at the former member of his crew, and now the captain of his own ship.
Robur looks back at him. They look like wild animals that have met an opponent on their territory and are ready to rush at each other at any moment.
Robur is the first to break the silence. "Captain Nemo?" he says, his chest rising with deep breathing, as if he's taking in air before diving.
"What are you doing here?" instead of a greeting, for which, probably, it was really too late, Nemo answers. He unclasps his hands, stroking his uniform. He behaves like a master, even here, on dry land, which he swore never to tread again since he voluntarily plunged into the depths of the sea.
His hand reaches into his pocket for a compass, Robur watches his every move. Nemo is well acquainted with his character and knows that Robur can barely contain his emotions. He was silent and motionless, but an unceasing fire burned inside him.
“I am here because I have the right to it,” Robur finally says and takes a step towards Nemo, blocking his way when he was about to step further onto the island. “This is the parking of my ship and I will not allow anyone to violate my incognito. Even you, captain Nemo."
“You seem to have forgotten who you are talking to,” Nemo replies coldly, although by the way his eyes sparkled, it was noticeable that Robur’s impudence angered him. “I am the captain of the Nautilus...”
"But you are no longer my captain," Robur interrupts him, still not letting him through. "You are now invading my territory. You may have absolute power underwater, but you no longer have it on land."
"Neither are you."
They stand on a rocky shore and each of them does not want to give way. The Albatross, beautiful in its menacingness, hovered over the nameless island, the sunset reflected from its anchor. "Nautilus" turns black in a few cables in the sea.
It seems that from each of them assistants are now watching their commanders on the shore; in the event of a conflict, ready to rush into battle at the first signal.
"You still couldn't find a replacement for me?" Robur chuckles smugly, remembering how their long-standing conflict eventually left the Nautilus without a lead engineer. A nervous trembling passed over Nemo's face, and Robur realized that he had guessed right.
"No," Captain Nemo replied after a short silence. "I took your place myself."
After these words, he laid his hand on Robur's chest, holding him firmly in place so that he could finally pass by.
"It's getting cold in here, don't you think?" Nemo threw, striding towards the rocks. "I hope there's a place for a fire in your parking."
Robur, frozen for a while, struck by the unspoken thought of the captain of the Nautilus, (so he really could not find anyone better than him...), looked after him before waving his hand to his team on the Albatross, canceling the order fire.
