“Flowers are only beautiful because they don’t last long. They’re fragile and precious, but so is life and anything worth living. Thank you, it’s a lovely gift.”
‘ all i want is to be soft & gentle, but i’m made out of steel & anger. maybe in another life, i guess. ’
This got WAAAY longer than intended, but I really wanted to write about Elecia! Hope you like it! ♥
“Get up, girl. You’re a warrior, not a patheticporcelain doll.”Arthemon’s voice resonated through the training arena, as sharpand polished as the steel blade in his hand. He stood a few feet from whereElecia laid on the granite floor, blocking the faint light above them
She didn’t want to get up. The black stone was pleasantlycold against her bruised and aching body, a soothing sensation she gladlywelcomed after the exhaustive training. Elia was certain she had earned theright to stay there for as long as she wished. Uncle Arthemon, however, wouldn’t see it like that. No, he’d take it as a weakness, as he took most things.
Sighing softly, Elecia forced herself up, schoolingher features into cold indifference. Her muscles protested, loudly, and she hadto bit the inside of her cheek not to whimper.
Her uncle’s violet eyes run over her small frame, searchingfor any signs of weakness. Finding no flaw to comment on, Arthemon nodded, turned on his heels and left the room without so much as a second look.
If Elia had any of courage, she’d have laughed at him;she’d have let her face twist with all the anger and frustration she felt andtransform her cold expression into one of pure disdain. If she had any courage, she’d have told him that there was no weakness to be found.
Weapons need not be soft. They need not be gentle. Allthey needed was to kill.
Hyraiel had made sure she’d understand that.
Elecia looked up to the underground arena’s cabin, where her father sat in his black chair. Hyraiel Artwaltz looked as bored andindifferent as he always did when he watched her training with Uncle Arthemon, and upon seeing her staring at him, his lips pulled up into an indulgent, warmgrin. A smile of a father proud of his daughter, many who saw him then wouldfeel compelled to say. They wouldn’t see past it and into the cold glimmer ofhis dark blue eyes, the look of a man who felt proud of no one and nothing but himself.
Elia was the Queen in Hyraiel’s game of chess, and anysuccess of hers was simply a consequence of his own, brilliant strategies.
She didn’t think he had ever felt proud of her the waya father usually did, and she doubted he ever would.
With a graceful bow towards him, Elecia walked out ofthe room and into the dark corridor beyond. She didn’t wait for Hyraiel tofollow as she made her way through Castle Mördrant’s labyrinthine tunnels, up hundredsof steps out of the earth and into the main halls. At least they had betterillumination, not that Elia cared. It was not as if she couldn’t see in thedark, anyway.
But she didn’t wish for the pale glow of enchantedcandles and chandeliers. No, Elecia longed for the warmth of the sun, for the beautyof snow glistening under its golden rays. She wanted the cool wind against herskin.
How strange, for a child of darkness and decay to lovelight so much. Maybe this was what Sasenia felt when she’d chosen the nameHyperion for her own, so many centuries ago.
Elecia stopped at the top of stairs that led to thefoyer. Mordränt’s great iron doors were open and sunlight streamed through them, casting dark shadows on the walls. Allowing herself the ghost of a smile, Elia startedto descend the steps but froze midway, startled by the sound of laughter.
She recognized it instantly. How could she not, when thatlovely sound filled her dreams, when it gave her strength to fight when thedarkness threatened to swallow her whole? Hearing it now, Elecia need not gooutside to know what she would find: Aedric and Alectra, smiling widely as theyplayed in the snow.
Light. Happy. Innocent.
Free in a way she would never be.
For a moment Elecia imagined herself running down the stairs and out thedoors and joining her siblings. They’d play in the snow until night fell, untiltheir faces hurt from grinning and laughing at one another’s antics.
“AllI want is to be soft and gentle, but I’m made out of steel and anger. Maybe inanother life, I guess.” She thought sadly, almost bitterly. It wasn’t fair, butthis was her life, and Elia couldn’t run for it.
Asingle tear ran down her cheek as she turned her back to light, to the promiseof a happier life and back into the dark.

"did you ever think for a second i’d choose you over my own survival?”
hello lacie! Could you tell a little bit more about Adelina Belchieri? ♥
Of course, I’d be delighted! You know it, but to anyone else who doesn’t: Adelina belongs to the RP series the Vëlimir Chronicles, more specifically to the third generation. But to understand Addie, why her personality is the way it is, we must first delve into her mother’s past and ambitions, the politics which run the Kingdom of Arseli.Beatrice de Fiore, as her surname suggests, was born a Princess: the King’s eldest daughter, she felt entitled to Arseli’s throne, though by the country’s laws she’d no more claim to it than her younger brother Leonard. Outsiders will say that “Beauty” is a lousy way to chose a Monarch and mock Arselians for it, but the selection process is more complicated than just physical appearances— personality also matters. Unlike Leonard, Beatrice never outgrew the childhood arrogance, entitlement, and violent temper— and it cost her the throne. She’d not abide by this decision quietly, however, and married Lord Belchieri to keep herself politically relevant and to take from her brother what she feels is rightfully hers.
”I know what I’m, and what I’m not. I know. And that’s why it hurts so much.
Adelina is her second child by Lord Belchieri. Inheriting her mother’s golden hair and bright green eyes, at first she was seen as a small victory, a strong and healthy child unlike her Leonard’s sickly youngest. The feeling of triumph was short lived, as Addie proved to be different than Beatrice or her older brother Alger, to have something that set her apart: kindness, compassion, selflessness. Admirable traits in any other family, just not to Beatrice, who started seeing her little daughter as a disappointment, a failure and a weakness to her cause. A father who was basically a non-entity. An older brother to whom she couldn’t matter less. A mother who never let her forget how much of a disappointment she was and who lashed out (sometimes physically) for the smallest offences. Is it any wonder that at twelve Adelina is a broken girl? She doesn’t speak because she believes her words hold no value, no meaning; she keeps looking down because looking up, speaking her mind, will earn her nothing but anger and contempt. Addie doesn’t matter. She never did. She’s a means to an end her mother would gladly discard if it furthered her ambitions. And she’s painfully aware of it. Years of neglect and emotional abuse took its toll, it made for a young girl with little self-esteem to speak of, terrified to say anything for the cheer risk of offending “her betters”, lonely and melancholic. Adelina cannot bring herself to hate her mother, to stop wishing for just a glimmer of her approval, despite knowing how far-fetched this is. The only reason why she hasn’t turned into a bitter, resentful girl with hatred and vengeance in her heart is because Addie did know love and affection, she did have someone who cared, who wanted her safe and well: her uncle Leonard and her aunt Clarisse, the very brother and sister-in-law Beatrice so badly wants to destroy. They loved Adelina even with everything her mother thought about doing —and did— against them. For that love freely given, Adelina adores her uncle, her aunt and her cousins. In her most secret dreams she lives with them, calls Clarisse “Mama” and Leonard “Papa”. But this is all it is: a beautiful, distant dream that must forever remain hidden, for if Beatrice learns about it… There’s no telling what she’d do to Adelina.
◇ fun facts:
↝ Owns a white German Spitz named Reinette. While the dog is unquestionably Adelina’s, Beatrice chose the name, claiming “Flora” was unacceptable.↝ Isn’t much into the Great Goddess’s religion, unlike her parents. Adelina sees that ageless, beautiful face… And all she feels is cold.↝ Her favourite flowers are dandelions.↝ Still sleeps with her teddy bear, a white bunny named “Mister Rabbit”.
2, 18 & 26 for Myrcella! ✨
You had to ask one my favorites lmao Now bear with me as I ramble2.Does your OC collect anything? What do they collect?
Fashion magazines for one. Has a whole room in her quarters dedicated to them, separated by country, month and year, as well as some other editorials. And jewels. Myrcella hoards jewels like a jealous dragon, absolutely adores her precious stones, much to her mother’s frustration (“You’ll never use so many jewels!” “Nonsense, mother. A girl can never have enough jewels.”)
18. What are your OC’s greatest fears? Weaknesses? Strengths?
Unlike what many might think, Myrcella’s greatest fear isn’t spiders or cockroaches or even rats. It’s something more abstract, and much more personal: irrelevance, obscurantism. To wake up one day and not be recognized by anyone. She’ll never, ever be content to sit on the sidelines, to be just another girl in a crowd. Myrcella is one of those girls everyone looks, who most want to imitate. And the thought of not being this anymore scares her like nothing else does.As for weakness, she was greatly spoiled (Still is) and doesn’t take “No” for an answer, at least not as graciously as she ought to. Myrcella will cajole, bargain and hell, throw money at a problem if it will get her way. She doesn’t really understand the meaning of difficulty and has to be called out that not everyone has it as easy as she has. There’s also her pride, something not apparent at first… But which is still very much there. She’s intelligent and talented, with a gift for chemistry/alchemy and designing. Creative and inventive, Myrcella can be relied to solve a problem in an out-of-the-box way. She has a magnetic personality, being also nice, easily winning people over. Being far from innocent, she is aware of how interpersonal relations work and how to work them for we advantage.
26. Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact) and why?
Difficult one. The most important (other than herself, let’s be honest here) at first is her boyfriend Darien, and he’s so important because Myrcella’s quite convinced he’s the one. Their first meeting was very fairy tale like: in a masked ball, no names exchanged as is the costume in Arseli, and when the bell struck midnight, Myrcella had to leave or risk being caught. She never expected to meet him again but as fate would have it, she did. They started dating. And Darien was that important person, her own fairy tale come true. But I said at first because a love story from the books it might be… but Myrcella isn’t a princess, and her heart longed for other things, no matter how badly she wanted to convince herself otherwise.
The least important who still has an impact… That’s difficult because, to Myrcella, often you only have an impact if you’re somewhat important. Probably her maternal grandfather. She loves him a lot, but he only impacts her life by the way of her formidable grandmother.
17 and 37 for Amélie? :)
My sweet, artistic child ♥
17. How do they make a living? What kind of job do they want / not want? What is their dream job? What do they think of their current job?
As a 16 years old, Amélie (Or Amy) doesn’t do anything for a living, being a student and depending on her parents. Her father is an important politician, while her mother works in an administrative position within the Kingdom’s government. Her dream is to be a professional painter and she can pursue that dream without much concern due to her family’s wealth.
37. What’s something that your character does, that other people don’t normally do?
Fighting monster and villains, as Guardian in their world is wont to do. On the realm of the ordinary, Amélie walks around with clothes smeared in paint, with a sketchbook at hand and watercolors. She also eats dessert first, before eating the actual dinner.
41 for Isabelle?
41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why?
An angry- a truly angry- Isabelle is not, by any means, a pretty sight. All her worst traits come to surface, and she shows deep disdain and cruelty. You will not hear a kind word, you will not hear sarcasm. You’ll be at the ending of a brutal “The Reason You Suck” Speech, with words twisted to hurt, belittle and humiliate. It’s not something rational, but a instinctive reaction. And if you attack, she’ll give back twice as hard.
