@f1rstresponder for a plotted starter
All his life, Bucky's worked with horses. From the day he was born he's always been around them, and from the day he could walk he's been riding.
That doesn't mean accidents don't happen anymore. But when they do? Apparently they choose to do so right in front of his hot date. Because why not?
As a first date, Bucky had tacked up two horses, his own and one of those bomb-proof horses that wouldn't take a wrong step if his life depended on it, and they'd gone on a nice trail ride. Not too far, just about an hour. The trail went through a canyon by a little creek and along some hills. It was nice. Really nice. They had fun, or at least Bucky had, and he already couldn't wait to see him again.
Apparently, his horse is an excellent mindreader, because the first thing Jolie does after he has that thought? Is bolt. Luckily TK's horse isn't very much impressed, simply tilting his head, ears forward as he's trying t figure out what in the world Jolie's problem is. A snake. The problem - is a snake. A harmless Garter snake that was simply trying to cross the path in peace.
Bucky's usually pretty good at sitting out a couple of bucks -- it's how he got his nickname -- but when the mare makes an unexpected sharp turn, he's tossed right off. In an attempt to break his fall, Bucky lands on his arm, hearing a snap before his head hits the sand next and he blacks out.
It's only a few seconds before he wakes up again, moving to sit up. The sunlight is way too bright and hurts his eyes, but he's trying to find where his horse ran off to. You know.. to make sure she's okay. However, before he's able to get up to go and look for her, TK's already hovering over him. "Hey-- can you maybe grab her?" She's still wearing her bridle, Bucky would hate to have her step on her rein...
