@vespertiilian !
the minutes ticking down to the metropolis ball drop were spent in excitement. lois had never been one for the christmas holidays, but she was always in support of the new year: it was always a good excuse to drink & to put the year's mistakes in the past. when the ball finally hits the ground, lois gives a little smile to her boyfriend, her arms snaking up to wrap around his neck, letting their noses touch for merely a moment. ❛ happy new year, baby, ❜ she whispers against his lips as she goes in for a kiss. it was the perfect kiss, on the perfect night, spent with her loving boyfriend. lois could not ask for anything more.
"why do they blame me for all their little failings?!"
THIS SIDE OF HIS BROTHER IS SOMEWHAT NEW TO CASTIEL. lucifer was cast out for rebelling, for going against god - just as castiel did some thousand years later - and he’s paid the price since as humanity’s one true scapegoat. and for years the former lightbringer didn’t seem to care all that much about it, ruling hell and being the punisher of sinners. the seraph casts a sideways glance at the armani clad ex-archangel, quietly mulling over the question in his mind. hands in the pockets of his trenchcoat he watch people milling to a fro below him on the street for a while before turning towards lucifer again. “ because you are the original scapegoat. humanity has been taught to blame everything bad on you ever since you fell. father’s everlasting punishment, if you will… ”

❝ you think it’s bad now, but you don’t know the half of it. ❞ @sarcasiisms
the space station was supposed to be lasting until radiation cleared, but it turned out some wicked twist of fate brought them careening to earth, anyway. the only good news was the ground being survivable. however, grizz couldn’t say he was pleased by the experiment that lead to the conclusion: sending people there, regardless of criminal activity or not, was cruel. if it turned out the air was still toxic, the one hundred forced explorers would have been killed for the sake of buying more time for everyone else. he didn’t think any life was above another - they were all precious, purposeful - but he was only a teenager, his ideas were unheard, unimportant, so his lips remained sealed.
but the ground came with more complications unforeseen - ones that left him aching in ways he couldn’t approach. his heart was too big for a lifetime of wars and death, but grizz had no choice but to swallow down guilt and continue on the rocky path of the future. it’s days after the execution of a boy for an alliance and grizz still couldn’t process why it needed to be done - or how he’d managed to become part of the efforts to help the others in the mountain. he blames over - hearing conversations and the instinctive disgust he felt knowing the plan had been to cut them loose without care for what became of them.
the voice jolts him from his thoughts, gaze shifting to the other - one from the original expedition, a criminal the others seemed not to like but had yet to give grizz reason to dislike him. he’d rather make his own opinions of others, anyway. “i don’t really know what to think,” he admits gruffly, tousling his hair in distraction. “is it worse than it was before the ark came down?” he has to ask in some form of gruesome curiosity. grizz doesn’t like not knowing what he’s getting into, but he can’t sit around doing nothing when he knows he can help.
@mercwiththemouth !
“ if i had a dime for every time some dumb & rude customer called me a dumb blonde, i could pay off my damn tuition, ” she mutters as she stomps out onto the pavement. suddenly, she’s slamming into someone, very hard. if there wasn’t a wall behind her, she probably would have busted her ass. in all honesty, she knows it was probably more her fault than the other person’s ( her shit attitude was making her a walking wrecking ball ) but her irritation bubbles over. “ hey, don’t you see a slightly agitated person walking here? ”
head turns to look around. arms cross before you STARE at everything. you're nervous and you bet he can tell. you didn't like places like this : full of people, too much noise, too much everything. you sigh as you grab his arm lightly. you've been in a place like this before and it didn't end good. this isn't good, this feeling isn't good. ❝ dude, if my mom finds out i'm here, i'll be DEAD MEAT. ❞
