2min 50sec load time!!!

Guess who figured out how to use CC Magic to combine her mods? This girl right here!!

On July 7th I combined my mods and the game works better and loads faster than ever!! I ended up being up until 3am, and very tired the next day, but it was so worth it!! Below are examples of my load times throughout the process of building V5 for context!

Load times:

No mods = Game would not launch

Version 4 of the Washburn Edition = 8-12min load time

Version 5 of the Washburn Edition with CC Magic = 2mins 50secs!!!!

I am stunned! I can't even imagine how well it is going to run when I have an actual gaming PC!!!

I decided to stick to 2K graphics on my laptop, since it is not built for gaming. 4k works, but performance takes a hit and it eats up more ram loading all those gorgeous textures. Once I have a gaming PC, I will figure out how to use DVXK so I can play in full 4k! And of course I will make videos to explain everything!!

Finalizing and Fine Tuning!!

After two years of hard work, I believe I have finally finished Version 5 of my Washburn Edition Mods List!!!

Last night I tracked down what I believe are the last of the conflicting mods, and spent a few hours play testing the game. It takes my breath away!! It is running beautifully! I currently have my graphics running at 2k. The game runs at between 2.5gb to 3.8gb memory when playing. Thank you to @sims3fiend Sims 3 Settings Setter for letting me see how much ram I am using! The game works at 4k, but the performance does take a small hit on my little laptop.

Today I am learning how to use CC Magic to combine my mods to increase the performance even further. I am hoping to get 4k up and running by doing this, but we will have to see. From there, I will start work on the finalized spreadsheet that will have all of the information you will need to bring your game to life on a whole new level!!

I don't have a release date yet, but hopefully it will be within the next few months! I will keep you all posted!!

Hello my friends!!!

My Unofficial Remaster of the Sims 3, Version 5 of my Washburn Edition Mods List, is nearly complete!! Thank you all for following along and supporting this project!!

Although I haven't been posting, I have been working on V5 every chance I get. I ended 2025 by placing the last of the mods into the game, which was a very emotional moment for me. Since then, I have been testing and pairing down my mods, searching for and fixing bugs and conflictions. In the words of Antoine De Saint-Exupery "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away."

V5 is running buttery smooth, loading faster than you would believe, and is more beautiful and more immersive than I ever could have dreamed of! Especially since I am not running this on a gaming pc, but on my little four-year-old Samsung Galaxy laptop. Which, without my mods, my computer would not even RUN the game!!

So, what's next? Well right now I am trying to track down a bug that is causing service NPC's not to wear their uniforms. It is the last bug I am aware of. From there, I will do some final testing to make sure everything runs as best as possible.

My next herculean task will be to format the Version 5 mods list spreadsheet, to keep track of and help you install the 600+ mods/1400+ files in this Unofficial Remaster. Also, keep in mind that you will not NEED all of those mods in your game, since many of them are optional. I will also be working on my lighting mod as a side project, since I already know I am going to get burnt out working on the spreadsheet LOL

I am hoping to get back to making videos in the next month or so, and finish and publish Version 5 for you all this spring, but that will heavily depend on a number of factors in my personal life.

Hello my friends!!

Work continues on V5 of my Washburn Edition Mods List! The last two weekends I have put a lot of time into my mods list. I am currently working on testing the last few dozen mods to find and fix any bugs or conflictions. I have fixed quite a few already.

I am also working on my own lighting mod! In these photos you can see some sneak previews!! There is still a LOT of work ahead of me, but I am LOVING the results so far!! I am hoping to release it at the same time as V5. We will see how long it takes!

Hello my friends!!

It's time for another long overdue update on Version 5 of my Washburn Edition Mods List!!

After over a month of productive chaos in my life, I am finally working on this project again!! I wanted to share some recent screenshots I've taken in Riverview, which is a very important town for me!

Why is Riverview so important to me? Because before the Washburns, there were the McDermotts. I played with them and lived their stories for over a year of my life, through two generations of that family's ups and downs... but when I moved the third generation out to start on her story... the game became unplayable, crashing within minutes of loading every time I launched it.

At the time, I knew next to nothing about mods and didn't know how to back up my saves yet. It was thr devistating loss of that family that led me to create the Washburn Edition! To combine hundreds of mods to fix, update and improve every aspect of this game!

This was the first time I have seen Riverview since I began work on Version 5. I set Niki up in Athena and her son Hector's first home. When the game loaded in... I got chills! It hit me in a whole new way just what I have created in Version 5. It was so emotional to see this town again in a whole new light!
