Semi final 2 with discarded 6 country votes
With the new article released by the EBU earlier, this is what the end result would have been if the six countries did not get caught out.
In summary, the same 10 countries would have qualified, so that isn't a big change, but they moved around a little. Sweden was still the semi final winner followed by Serbia in place 2 (up one) and Poland now takes third place (up three). Czech Republic retained fourth, but Australia came down for 5th from 2nd. Estonia drops one place to sixth, Romania rose two spots to seventh place, while Finland and Belgium took one step back to 8th and 9th respectively. Azerbaijan retained 10th.
The non qualifier took a shake up as well. San Marino scored an additional 39 votes with the rejected jury votes to come 11th. North Macedonia and Montenegro came 12th and 13th both with 72 points. Israel dropped one place now to 14th place, while Georgia would have gained 42 more points to place 15th instead of last. Cyprus had no change in score, but dropped to 16th. Finally, Ireland and Malta who took 17th and 18th.
[Small sub-note: The official results would have seen Romania not qualified in the case of a jury only result. With these revealed votes, it would have been Finland instead.]
Seeing as the different votes would have made no difference whatsoever in the outcome of the qualifiers, was there a point in the exercise? Yes. A third of the jury vote were tainted with bribed votes. The 6 countries have been disgraced and stripped of the ability to present their votes in the final. Two countries have queried the decision by the EBU, Romania and Montenegro, and there is a possibility that they are innocent parties that happened to have had similar votes. Is it also ominous silence from the other four which can be considered guilt? No idea.
