Il y a beaucoup de bons films ce soir mais j’ai jeté mon dévolu sur le mythique VERTIGO (1958) de Sir Alfred Hitchcock. Je suis un grand fan du maître du suspense. J’ai bien évidemment lu son entrevue entre lui et François Truffaut (Ouvrage extraordinaire sur le cinéma que je vous recommande impérativement !). J’ai étudié l’ensemble de sa filmographie. bref pour moi Hitchcock c’est le cinéma dans toute sa splendeur. Tiré d’un roman français au titre évocateur D’ENTRE LES MORTS, le scénario est tout autant un drame psychanalytique et un thriller à suspense captivant. La mise en scène est aérienne et toujours inventive. C’est dans ce film que le réalisateur invente le fameux procédé « vertigo » (La sensation de vertige à l’écran) qui fait toujours école aujourd’hui. La photographie technicolor est tout simplement sublime. Kim Novak est bouleversante (Hitchcock ne l’a pas épargnée sur le tournage…) et James Stewart fabuleux dans ce rôle obsessionnel. La bande originale de Bernard Hermann est envoûtante et reste aujourd’hui une des meilleures BO de l’histoire du cinéma. Hitchcocktober 😱 🔪Day 31: Vertigo 💀 My final entry for Hitchcocktober is, of course, Vertigo. Not as lauded at its release, it has since become recognized as the masterpiece that it is, as well as become the one most often listed as Hitchcock's greatest film. It is a gorgeous, effective, melodramatic, noir-ish, psychological crime thriller masterwork, and one of those rare films where every moment and frame is like a work of art. And the use of color, and music, and camera work--well, anyway, what I'm getting at is I like it. So, I guess that's it.
