holy fuck i just watched the 2009 star trek movie and oh my god! such a good adventure! exactly what i expected, wanted, and needed! why did nobody told me how much will i love mccoy?
and also, i realised that if i watched it when it was coming out i would’ve been fifteen??? like, i made the calculation and they spit out that age to me and i was like was i ever fifteen? how? i was fifteen oh my god i’m so old
#whatever life#star trek#i wanted badly to watch something uncomplicated and picaresque#and it was exactly that#yum what a good blockbuster it was#very consumable#i do want to get to the tv series but for now i wanted something short and closed in one chapter#because the academic year is approaching#and i need to focus on my work#but holy hell was this satisfying#i have lately lots of hunger for picaresque#and jim kirk is that kind of character a bit too#a naughty boy#i wanted a disorganised naughty boy for some cleaning of mind#because i normally prefer the laurents of this world#also chris pine is undeniably attractive even though i didn't want to be attracted#and all the characters were lovable#and the level of sexism was eh could be better but i closed my eyes and enjoyed the ride anyways#and MCCOY AND SCOTTY I LOVE THEM#I LOVE THEM SO MUCH#AND CHEKOV MY BABY
