Detective Conan Catch Up: Chapter 49-51
PreReview Blurb: Episode 43. It's suppose to be an important episode in both lists. I want to keep these things spoiler free.
About the Case: I've seen the anime episode before, and remember it well. Right from the arrival of "Conan's Mother" I knew what this was about. When you already know what's coming, it's hard not to laugh.
It was a good case that leaves newcomers and first readers and viewers worried for Conan with a great twist at the end.
Relevance to the Plot: Very Important. relevant plot, and character introduction.
The last case I read was just barely important, It was on the fine line of becoming filler with the only relevant thing about it being the introduction of Sonoko Suzuki.
This case however not only introduces Shinichi's parents, but we are brought into a story about the danger Conan could be facing regarding the Black Organization.
We also learn that as smart as Shinichi/Conan is, his father is still on a higher level. He thinks faster, and is much more clever.
Detective Conan Catch Up: Chapter 1 Review
PreReview Blurb: So I made it a part of my New Year's Resolution to catch up to Detective Conan. And so here I go. I have read this chapter and watched the episode. But that was a while ago. Regardless, it's a always a familiar episode, especially if one watches the movies, because Conan is always reminding us what happened to him.
I don't know if new episodes do a recap of some sort to remind or tell newcomers what the hell happened to him. I remember watching Kid's first appearance, they had a small recap..
For obvious reason, this chapter/episode is listed as a must watch on all master lists.
Enjoyment: 7/10
I suppose my problem is my own suspension of disbelief. The setting of the manga gives a feel of this is the real world. It's as if the logic that follows should follow real world logic. This isn't some magical superhero shit. But alas, this isn't the case.
I guess one could say this chapter really sets the tone on what to expect. Murder and ridiculous attempts to get away with it that can seem either over thought out and sometimes improbable.
How the woman pulls the murder is too far fetched to me. While I do find her motive to be stupid, that is probably one of the more realistic things about the case.
Favorite parts of the chapter: I am a Shipper, so Shinichi's fantasies are probably one of the the highlights of this chapter. It's cute. He loves Ran. But what I love most about it, is how ridiculous and corny it is.
Oh. Shinichi.
Chibi Shinichi! So Adorable XD
Relevance to the Plot: Very Important. For obvious reasons.
AHAHAH THABK YOU CHAPTER 100
