today's reason to generally hate men as a class:

only old guy working at the optics shop decided to do two things to make himself the main character.

the first and least annoying was him talking at the loudest possible volume so that no one could hear any other conversation they were having in the entire shop. i could barely hear a girl sitting 2 feet away from me.

the second and MOST EGREGIOUS thing was this

i chose to get my eyes checked/prescription updated at this optics shop bc they had pride gear out and one of the employees appeared to be trans fem. and i was like !!! i'd be happy for them to get the commission and they all seem chill. (except for this old fucking guy)

so as i'm leaving, i say to the girl who helped me (short & latina like me) and the trans fem employee "by the way, both of your nails are really nice!"

they both smile very brightly and say thank you :)

i wave and turn to leave

as i'm leaving

the old guy says "well what about my nails?"

and i hear the two girls force out a laugh

i ignored him and did not turn back

like bro. you are in your 50s or 60s. these two nice girls are variously marginalized and were very polite and helpful to me. AND! THEY HAD INCREDIBLE MANICURES! such fancy nails! so pretty! i genuinely meant the compliment!

but this old man can't NOT be the center of attention. had to ruin their positive little moment.
