i am currently fielding advice for how to help support a potential 16/17 year old trans girl in my family (appears to just be questioning/exploring rn, no definitive info direct from the source yet)

if you wanna give me advice, pls DM or send me an ask for more details, bc it is the world's most complicated situation (insofar as all this extenuating bullshit going on--i know with 100% certainty that myself and 2 of 3 involved family members will be nothing but supportive and protective in truly meaningful ways. the third is a question mark that we're going to ferret out ourselves.)

i've given relevant family members my own two cents, but i wanna check for any specifics from actual trans girls/women on how to thread this particular needle

esp as there appears to be a concern of online/offline safety at play

The World Health Organization report I highly recommend because there are so many conclusions that are shocking and yet completely obvious.

For example, being exposed to corporal punishment as a kid makes it more likely for a person to commit domestic violence against a partner. In places where corporal punishment is normal, people are more likely to think that rape and intimate partner violence are normal. Kids who are spanked are more likely to be violent with and to bully other kids.

Spanking is literally teaching a kid that violence is okay and normal and it affects the whole society.

It also talks about how corporal punishment affects the brain in its development. It changes the structure of the brain and slows the development of mental abilities. Kids who get spanked have much stronger hormonal responses to stress.

Help a Disabled Trans Women Eat During an Awful Time

So I've been unable to work recently due to a new unidentified issue that's been making my pass out during my job, it's caused me to fall two times in the middle of my shifts over the last two weeks, and miss several other shifts due to passing out on breaks or at home on days I was going to work.

I work on my feet in a kitchen, and during my last fall I hit my head on a table as I fell, and needed a CT scan. I have been in and out of the hospital and every test has come back inconclusive.

I'm not currently able to support myself due to all the missed days at work, and could really use some help until I can figure this out

I'm just going to say it - body hair (and beauty standards in general) is truly one of the final frontiers of women's issues in the West. Too many women just love their gilded cage too much. It shocks me how virulently women will defend it. I barely open my mouth and the "well I like how it feels. it just makes me feel cleaner. sensory issues. I do it for me. feminism is about choosing (to conform)." brigade come rushing in by the dozens.

Well I don't like how it feels. I don't feel cleaner without body hair. I don't prefer not having body hair. But who will advocate for women like me, but me? For women who do like hair removal, they are advocated for every time they step out of the house and see 99% of the female population also conforming to that standard, or when they watch a movie and see all the shaved actresses, or view an advertisment, or open a magazine, or watch a music video, or scroll through social media, or walk down the streets without receiving insults and glares for having a completely normal bodily feature.

You genuinely can't even point out that hairlessness is a man-made standard without women losing their shit and acting like they are totally immune to propaganda they've been exposed to from birth. I'm so tired.
