" S i x h o u r s , " was her reply. Add to her horrible lying skills, Charlie had a way of knowing if she was lying. Maybe she just can't lie to him. Or maybe it was just that obvious.
" F i v e , maybe? " But the fact that she was squeezing the mayonnaise bottle instead of the syrup over her pancakes said otherwise.
"Okay, I'm not really sure coz, you see, I was asleep," she reassured him, fighting hard to keep her eyes open. Even her morning cup couldn't fight off the effects of one- hour sleep.

Val loved her job. But when dragons became agitated it was a hell of a lot more difficult to keep things under control. Especially as one couldn't calm down a dragon by hugging it or making it a drink; you had to wait until it calmed down itself, or you had to knock it out.. Most of the time though, people waited until it calmed down, less risk to the keepers that way... Val was still relatively new to the reserve as well. She'd previously worked in one hidden away in the highlands of Wales, but she'd wanted a change and had applied in Romania. Unfortunately for Charlie Weasley, he was the main person she pestered since he seemed to know his way around well, and so far hadn't directed her wrongly. ❝ ----- Oi Charlie!
