Nyx is probably the most mentally stable high ranking bat is vespertilio even with dead parents and random bruises cause morgan is losing it.

camazotz is depressed and biding her time to die, diva is throwing herself into the stupidest work as a distraction.

nyx is the only one who hasnt let any of the bad stuff get to her. Her parents died, dumped her bf, got banished for speaking up, then was thrown into royalty without her consent... and yet she still manages to be kind and a joy to be around.

Ok so when the bats of vespertilio were given their hyper intelligence they couldnt really DO anything with it cause- they were bats and had no "hands". They wings were big hands but you cant do much with that

and estella's co-queen- well- she realized they needed an army. And you cant hold a spear with just your thumbs.

so against their wishes, all the vespertilio bats were given hands on their wings. It was extremely painful for the first generation.

this is actually the reason why nyx went into a house instead of another cave. The vespertilio bats are seen as affronts to nature who should keep away.

this is also why the cult does genetic experiments. What if they can use that power of the Stars and make something stronger than just giving a thousand bats some extra fingers.
