Red and Black Silk Velvet Vest with Plant Motifs
c. 1837-1842

It's been forever but I have some new art, featuring Vest! Vest is a watcher, which is an undead crystalline creature from my setting (he was formerly a tiefling/drow). I designed him like 7 years ago but did not have any proper reference, and needless to say I had so much fun with all of these wings~ I kinda miss loosening up and drawing some weirder designs!
Murasaki wears Meta’s faux leather pantsuit in black.
I made a matching vest for my partner to wear! Originally I envisioned we'd have matching King and Queen Mattress costumes--his would be in the style of the classic 18th century, French court suit. But as I worked on the dress, both my materials and interest dwindled. For this reason, I couldn't see myself committing myself to several more months of piecing and fitting etc. I scaled back considerably and decided to stick with a simple, modern vest. I think it turned out alright--the placement of the star ended up a little too close to the center, but whatever. It's done and so am I haha.
In other news, I've been considering for awhile whether or not I wanted to dip my toe into making sewing videos. I've always immensely enjoyed watching people like Morgan Donner, Bernadette Banner, Hazariel, Nicole Rudolf, etc. on YouTube. However, the thought of talking to the camera is...mortifying. That's when the idea of talking through an avatar crossed my mind. Given my username--banannaThreads--I thought, "what could be more fitting than a little felt banana?"
So I made one! It even has wires in the peel to make it pose-able. I'll let the banana do all the talking ;) But I have to learn how to use blender first... Wish me luck.
