Dong Nguyen vs Peter Vesterbacka. SuperThingsOnCups Rap Battles #4 by STOCRapBattles http://ift.tt/1t0mzAr
There's an interesting observation and analysis by Tero Kuittinen for BGR on the economics driving Rovio and its popular game franchise, Angry Birds. As the company saturates practically all available mobile and desktop platforms with variations of Angry Birds, its popularity is matched by a strong global demand for merchandises.
Supposedly Rovio makes up to 40% of its revenue from merchandising and its head of marketing Peter Vesterbacka understands the power of brand recognition. In his trips across the world, he's seen knock off shirts, dolls, and toys bearing the Angry Birds name, yet instead of fighting them in court, he pushes for more official merchandise in the market and it looks like it's paying off. Rovio is no longer focused too much on generating direct revenue from games, it's working to make more merchandising revenue.
