warnings: mentions of death, brief descriptions of violence

He sits at the lake’s edge, on a thick, curvy branch that extends from the forest surrounding it. His feet dangle right above the water’s calm surface, his eyes fixated on something far away, his hands holding onto other branches around him to keep balance. And he’s doing it perfectly: despite his feet swaying mindlessly, he’s nowhere close to slipping off the branch, and he doesn’t seem even half as focused as any human would be in this life threatening position. Although maybe the lake isn’t really that deep – but he still doesn’t seem to fear of falling into it.
His white, fox ears perk up at a sound and you hold your breath; you can’t be heard. You stay still and grasp onto the small brooch on your chest, stopping the little bells attached to it from echoing around – why are you still wearing it? it’s so annoying – praying so that you make no more noise than you already, apparently, have.
Yet, his peace has been disturbed and the man stands up; standing on the branch and turning in your direction, maybe not seeing you just yet, but acutely aware of your presence. He doesn’t hold onto anything anymore, but it doesn’t stop him from tiptoeing up the branch, from where he sat seconds ago to the main trunk and then off, onto the forest’s floor covered with pieces of wood, dead leaves and grass.
He walks to the side. His hands bury in the opposite sleeves of his coat: it doesn’t look like the type of clothing you’re familiar with, it’s traditional, but not like the Korean hanbok you know, or Japanese yukata, although it seems to have something from both of these, and even more. Gods and demons don’t care for human clusters. Which one of these species is this man – you can only hope to guess it right.
You hold onto the small glass bottle in your hand as he steps closer to where you’re crouching. He’s not looking at you, but you’re positive he knows you’re there. Will you manage to capture him? Or will he suddenly disappear, or even try to attack you first?
He suddenly jumps to the side, so strangely (why did he do that?!) that it startles you; the bottle almost slips from your hand and you only barely clutch it again before the adrenaline takes over and you throw it at him, so chaotically that you don’t even know if you threw it in the right direction, but it’s done, you can’t take it back now.
The bottle lands in the man’s extended hand; it wouldn’t have hit him, but he catches it, as if knowing exactly what to expect and where would it come from. Nothing else happens. The bottle stays in his hand as he glances at you. The thick bushes surrounding you and the tree trunk that you hid behind – he sees through all these things with his mesmerizing eyes, boring into yours.
He doesn’t speak, although the command is obvious – come out, there’s no use hiding anyway. Come out before I make you. Instead of speaking, he glances at the bottle and the small paper wrapped around its neck. Reading it makes him smirk.
You finally gather your courage; face the consequences, you pitiful hunter. You scramble to your feet and straighten your clothes; your hand brushes the brooch on your chest, making you flinch as the rough metal scratches your hand – not deep enough to draw blood, but the light pain is there – and you sigh, realizing its sound must be exactly what gave you away. What a useless item.
Soon, you emerge from the bushes, finally standing face to face with the man, whose lips are lifted in a small smile, a polite, yet careless one; his head tilts to the side in curiosity.
“Someone fooled you. You won’t catch a demon with this, even if I was one.”
“You’re not?!” Your eyes widen.
He shakes his head, eyes squinting. His head is tilted backwards which only highlights the way he looks down at you, as if taking apart all the elements you consist of, judging them, or even their potential use. It sends a shiver down your spine.
“Why do you want to catch a demon, though?” he asks. The bottle is thoughtlessly tossed away and lands in the grass, and he pays it no more attention. Instead, he steps closer to you, slowly, as if approaching a wild animal – although you felt as if he was closer to being one, the tables turn; you’re surrounded and he’s not scared, merely curious, and he’s the real threat to you right now. If he’s a god, the last thing you want is to upset him.
“I-I need it” you answer evasively.
“For?” he pries.
You hesitate, but you know there’s no use in trying to hide anything. Don’t upset him, you repeat to yourself.
“The King wants one.”
“You’re the King’s servant?”
“No. But he will release my brother if I give him a gift.”
“Why is he keeping your brother?”
“He’s… He’s in the prison. He stole money from a tax collector. He was imprisoned for stealing the King’s money.” You say the words in shame. You know, though – your brother isn’t a bad person, it’s just that, sometimes, the temptation is too big, the chance of getting money easier than through endless labor – too enticing. “He’s sentenced to death. I have to help him.”
“So you want to sacrifice an innocent being to save a criminal?”
There’s no use in arguing. The god smirks.
“What a noble deed to make. Well, I can help you. I’ll catch a demon with you and you’ll give me something in return. How does that sound?”
You know not to be too trustful.
“What is that, you want from me?”
His eyes go over your silhouette and he tilts his head.
“Something physical, something small, nothing you should worry about. It’s for your brother, so it’s worth it, right?”
That doesn’t sound right. Yet, it seems to be your only chance. Whatever it is that you’ll need to do in return, he’s right, you’re saving your brother’s life, so what’s there to lose? Nothing that you should be mindful of, certainly, even if it was to be your own life.
“I agree. Please, help me” you finally state.
The god smiles widely, but you can’t say that you like this smile.

The night is deep, and the sky is the clearest black, but sprinkled with stars that brighten up the world underneath. There’s no single cloud and the sight takes your breath away while you pass through the wild fields, the sky surrounding you from each side, far till the horizon, with nothing to cover it, all exposed for you to admire.
It’s chilly, the lost wind tugging at your clothes and hair – you wrap the coat tighter around yourself as you walk forward, your eyes fixated on the sight above you, because you can barely see where you’re going anyway.
You reach a small clearing, a circle with no grass even, and a few stones forming an irregular pile in the middle. The small, tear-shaped bowl you’ve been keeping by your side all this time, careful as to not shatter the porcelain it’s made of, is being placed on top of the stone and you kneel in front of it, taking two small bottles from one of your pockets and pouring the oil from one of them inside. What’s in the other – you drink up with only a moment of hesitation. It has no taste.
The oil’s scent is pleasant, but its intensity overwhelms you so you move away as soon as it’s lightened up. The wind picks up again and you fear that it’ll fade, but the fire stays strong, the flame dancing in the wind that’s pushing it around.
You stare at the lantern only a few moments more before choosing to look around you. The sky view is long-forgotten, there are other things you ought to worry about now. You try to see through the darkness, but the lantern, so small and placed so low above the ground, doesn’t make it much easier. What’s to come – you can only guess.
The wind picks up further. It puts the fire out and you move to light it up once again.
But before you reach the lantern, a wave of cold wind pushes you backwards and onto the ground, and does the same to the lantern – the oil spills, the bowl hits the lower stones and shatters like the thinnest glass. You feel your fear arise, but don’t find it in yourself to move from your spot, until there’s a silhouette appearing on the other side of the pile, and you feel as if it was there for quite a while already, but only allowed you to see it now, and you’re just a mere human that can’t possibly see a demon until the demon himself allows her to...
“What are you trying to do, human?” he scorns.
He walks around the pile and reaches the shattered lantern; he brushes its surface with his finger and then puts it under his nose, the oil’s aroma clearly satisfying to his senses as he glances at you once again.
“Well?” He approaches you and crouches down, his hand reaching and touching your forehead, leaving the oil on your skin as if to mark you with its scent. You’re frozen in spot. “Are you going to answer me?”
You don’t say a word. Your forehead tingles where the oil was put.
“Well then, if you can’t speak, seems like there’s only one use left for you.”
He grabs your shoulder and pulls you forward, the free hand catching the front of your clothing and tearing it off your body. And in no time, he bites you, sharp teeth burying in your chest and ripping the flash away. You scream in pain.
But so does he.
You’re being thrown away and he stumbles backwards, clutching onto his mouth and trying to get the flesh out of his mouth with his fingers. But it’s too late, your blood – poisoned with what you drank moments ago – runs down his throat, burning, hurting. He falls to the ground.
You know what you should do now – he’s powerless and that’s your only chance. But the blood seeping from your chest is too much, the world is spinning, you’re struggling to even find your balance. You pull another bottle out of your pocket, praying so that it didn’t break upon your fall. But you can’t move anymore, everything hurts, everything becomes blurry, the night’s darkness seeping into your very soul.
And when you think it’s over, suddenly, the bottle is gently taken from your hand. A small smile appears in the range of your sight, and it’s all that you’re seeing right now, until it disappears, when the man walks past you and approaches the demon’s silhouette – moaning and writhing on the ground, suffering.
The bottle is thrown at him carelessly and he lets out the last scream, before being pulled inside, his body turning into shining dust, matching the stars above, but brighter, filling the glass with its sparkling essence, lightening up way more than any mediocre oil lantern could ever hope to do.
The light soon fades, and so do you.
庥
Something tickles your neck and you start to wake up. It takes a few moments of blissful rest, before you finally pry your eyes open, sighing quietly at the loss of peace, although it’s not fully gone – the world you welcome is peaceful as well.
The first sight is that of the lake extending in front of you. You’re laid on its edge, inches from the water’s surface, the sun peeking through the foliage above and warming you up despite the chilly breeze arising from the lake.
You think it’s the grass stalks that tickle your face, but as you start analyzing your place further, it turns out to be a white tail that dangles nearby, lazily swaying from side to side and brushing your cheek in the process.
The god sits next to you, staring into the space in front of him, just like the first time you saw him. At the sound of you moving, he glances down at you and smiles slightly.
“Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey.”
“Huh?”
You’re confused with the weird rhyme, but soon realize it’s the last of the things you should be concerned about. Pain ghosts in your chest and you put your hand there, but there’s no source of concern – no real pain, and, as you notice slipping fingers under the clothes, no bruise left even.
“Did you…?”
It wouldn’t be too haste to assume healing a wound like such is not out of god’s powers, would it?
But the god doesn’t respond; in fact, he doesn’t spare you a second glance, until he suddenly looks as if he recalled something very important, and, out of the robes covering his body, pulls out a glass bottle with grayish, sparkling essence churning inside like a small storm, although more mesmerizing than terrifying, looking, in fact, harmless.
You take the glass carefully, scared of damaging it in any way, and observe it for a few moments before gently putting it in your own pocket. Then, you glance up at the god, whose eyes follow yours curiously.
“Thank you” you utter.
“Well, you’re welcome.”
“So…” You hesitate; it’s the time to pay. You only hope so that whatever is that you’re to give away, won’t stop you from getting the trapped demon safely to the King.
“This.”
He points at your chest without further explanation and your heart drops for a moment, scared to ask what he means, exactly.
Seeing your uneasiness though, and the way your face contorts in fear, he laughs, his eyes squinting in pure amusement.
“What are you thinking, human? This is what I’m talking about.” He raises his hand and pulls at your brooch, and you quickly take the hint and unpin it, patting your clothing down to hide the small holes from the needle. The bells ring as the god takes the brooch in his fingers and admires it for a few moments, letting its elements sparkle in the sun as he extends his hand beyond the shadow’s range. “I heard it when we first met.” He hesitates for a moment, before smirking, glancing at you mischievously. “Do you think I’d bother talking to a human if I didn’t find something worth my time? Isn’t it a beautiful sound?”
It doesn’t really sound so beautiful to you; the bells are old, they sound harsh and unpleasant, although quiet enough not to bother you too much. You only kept it because of the appearance – you don’t like the bells at all.
But the god seems mesmerized, completely infatuated with the little, shiny object and its plain noise.
“Go and save your criminal brother” he tells you, not bothering to look at you anymore, as if his new property is all he cares about at this point.
And you don’t bothered to argue, to make him act nicer.
Not like there’s any chance he will agree with you, anyway.
C - Control - do they take advantage of their powers?
Answered here!
D - Dangerous - how scary they can get? How bad things can they do? What’s their ethics?
Jongdae is not an evil vampire. He doesn’t really take advantage of his powers more than it’s needed. He doesn’t do evil things, doesn’t even attack people for blood - he’s a little sneaky shit who’ll seduce and persuade you to get what he wants, but he’ll never force it on you.
He’s aware of having the upper hand, but also believes that it doesn’t allow him to abuse this power. Doesn’t necessarily go for “power is a responsibility” thing; he just enjoys the way he is.
P - Pain - are they sadistic? Do they enjoy what they do?
Kind of! Although he wouldn’t hurt you without you consenting to it first, he’s fond of taking as much from you as he can. He’s gonna be pretty annoying about it, saying stuff like, “but you wanted this”, “is it too much? Oh my, how weak”.
You’d think he enjoys annoying you more than biting.
T - Turned - how were they turned?
The woman who turned him was similar to him in matters of feeding habits; he took most of his standards after her. He didn’t see being a vampire a big deal back when he asked her to turn him, and he doesn’t really regret this choice with all the opportunities it gave him. His story is not a tragic one, although he often misses his friends and family, who died long ago.
This is... weird. But I did my best!
Ah also, the gif has been made by myself from Chen’s pathcode video, but feel free to use it however you want. Just to let you know it’s not stolen.
When you start to attending one place long enough, you start to discover that some things always are there, and some, oppositely, appear and disappear without warnings, and probably haven’t been there for long enough to memorize them all too well.
Ever since you started using your way to uni, you’ve never been too focused on it. The small road surrounded by variety of tenement houses was nothing to hang your eyes on. It felt slightly suffocating, with the narrow sidewalks and cars parked all over, because years ago, when the houses were built, no one considered that parking lots would one day come in handy.
As the time passed, you saw more and more. Some things never changed, like the buildings’ colors and ornaments, and some always did, like the way the cars stood by the road, or the advertisements pinned to the walls.
But his presence was a thing you couldn’t quite put in any of these categories. When you saw him for the first time, he was sitting on a smaller house’s roof, barely lightened by the moonlight, because the street lamps wouldn’t reach this high. But it’s as if you didn’t know whether he’s been there all along, or was it just you who never looked up to see him.
Next day, you didn’t notice him on your way there. But then, when you were going back, you spotted him again. And in a span of week, you confirmed, that he sat there only at night, not doing anything, just staring up at the sky, which – if not the light pollution – would probably be full of stars.
In your head, he also became a stable piece of surroundings, and you’d always seek out for him, as if his presence only confirmed that no matter how the world changed, the mysterious man stayed still on his roof, in the place he belonged to.
The curiosity of yours never subsided, though. You found yourself making all sorts of stories, as to who the man could be. And one day, you found yourself unwittingly entering the house next to the one he was sat on, and climbing up the empty staircase, until you reached the highest floor and approached the small window that had a view right at the adjacent one’s roof.
Then, you found yourself leaning against that window, to catch a better look of the lone silhouette. It seemed stunning, he was stunning. The profile of his face that you saw was almost perfect, and you stared at it, trying to get your eyes used to the lack of light. You tried to be as quiet as possible, to not startle him, so when through the slightly ajar window you heard words being spoken, it was you who was startled instead.
“Am I such a beautiful sight to behold?”
You are, you wanted to say, but you only stared forward, as if to make sure it was surely you he was talking to.
And then he turned his head, staring directly in your eyes, with the softest smirk curling up the corners of his lips. He looked kind of cat-like, and you held your breath for a moment, just enough for him to chuckle, glancing down.
“U-um… Sorry” you mumbled. “I’ve been just seeing you here for a while, and grew curious.”
He hummed, sparing you yet another glance.
“Wanna join me, then?”
You blinked, surprised.
“The window is too small to get through” you said with a breathy laughter.
“There’s the roof’s entry above your head, you need to reach it” the man answered, his smile unwavering.
You glanced up. The entry was there, a square-shaped space that could be easily opened like a normal door. You opened it then, and glanced through the hole that appeared. You had to reach really high to open it though, and even as you jumped, you barely caught onto the hole’s edges, unable to pull yourself upwards.
But then a hand appeared in your sight, catching your wrist and swiftly pulling you through the hole and onto the roof.
You stared at each other from up close as you sat down on the roof’s surface. His eyes seemed to pierce holes through you, and for a brief moment, you felt so lost in them you thought you’d drown, having completely forgotten how to breathe. Enchanted.
You coughed awkwardly, letting him pull you up. Then, he walked toward the roof’s edge, and jumped onto the smaller one, the one he was sitting on until then. He did it without much effort, not even making much noise when his feet hit the surface. But you sat on the edge carefully, attempting to slip down as safely as possible. The man only watched as you finally made it there and approached him, sitting next to him nearby the edge.
You felt slightly intimidated by the height, as well as the other’s presence. In a way, it seemed overwhelming, yet not uncomfortable. And you didn’t mind staying like this for however long would it take. You took off your bag and put it behind yourself, leaning backwards to rest your head on it. The lying position was convenient, and you stared up at the night sky, trying not to bother the man with your presence. For some reason, he didn’t seem to mind it much, doing exactly the same thing he’d do on any other day, as if whether you were there, didn’t matter at all. He seemed so peaceful, so at ease, that you wondered what exactly was the reason for his choice to spend time in such unusual way.
So you moved to the side, glancing up at him, right to catch how he ran his fingers through his hair. And if you were to say something, you’ve instantly forgotten the words.
“How was your day?” he asked, sparing you a glance.
You opened your mouth, a bit startled by such a simple question.
“Good, I suppose. I’m going back from uni. That’s why I’ve been seeing you, I use this road pretty often” you informed him, patting the bag under your head.
He nodded slowly.
“Do you know if anyone else has seen me here lately?”
“I dunno” you replied truthfully, sitting up to meet his eyes’ level. “And it’s not like I’d just go around telling it people I know, it was more of a… private observation.”
He merely smiled at your response.
“Good” was all you heard before his fingers suddenly wrapped around your throat, pushing you down onto the roof.
The back of your head hit the surface with a force you definitely weren’t expecting now, making you see stars other than the ones above you.
His face didn’t change even for a brief moment, he only tilted his head to the side, watching silently as you grabbed onto his wrist, trying to pry it off your throat in panic. But he only pressed you down harder, and all your attempts only caused you to tire out fast. The grip loosened ever so slightly once you stopped to struggle, and you only stared up at the man with confusion and fear displayed on your face.
His finger found its way to his lips in a wordless request for you to stay silent, as he moved, hovering above your frame. With his free hand, he reached to your wrist, prying it off his own and raising to his lips.
“W-what do you want…” you choked out fearfully.
“Don’t worry about it” he replied simply. “You can’t leave this place on your own anyway, so don’t struggle. It won’t last long.”
“What will…”
Before you could finish, his teeth pierced the skin on your wrist. You let out a shriek at the sudden pain, and thrashed around in attempt to get anywhere, away from him, away from whatever he was doing.
But then you discovered that exhaustion started to take over you faster than you’d expect, and that your vision started to blur, and only then has it struck you, that with his lips attached to your hand, he was sucking out your precious blood.
Soon enough, your will to put up any fight disappeared as well, and you laid there numbly, watching as the man finally let go of you, and licked over his lips, a sight just as endearing as it was dangerous. You were too tired to even speak, but when he glanced at you again, taking your chin in his fingers and making you look at him, you found yourself parting your lips, staring at him in your daze.
“Now then, [F/n]. You’re going to forget ever coming here, to this building. All you’ll remember is that you were on your way home, when you felt dizzy, and went right to bed after arriving. Got it?”
You nodded feverishly, because it was all you could do, with his eyes trapping yours in a way you couldn’t quite wrap your thoughts around just yet.
The man hummed at your response, and his hand moved, stroking your cheek in a gentle, almost comforting manner.
“Hope to see you next week too, darling.”
And even though these were the last words you heard from him, when you woke up in your own bed next morning, you remembered none of what was said.
And all you felt was curiosity, slowly pushing you towards your own destruction, over and over again.

G- Game: much do they enjoy watching you run and have a fearful expression?
He wouldn't really admit it, but it turns him on.
Jongdae isn't a violent type of yandere and his purpose is to make you submit so you could live a peaceful life in his definition of these words. But, although he doesn't want to admit it, the adrenaline that a hunt gives him is a great entertainment.
In fact, he's not afraid of scaring you, if he decides it's necessary to train you this way. He doesn't do it without a reason, but he'd get off on you cowering in front of him.
As long as you don't try to fight him. Then, he'll simply get mad.
O- Oppression- How many rights would they take away from you?
He doesn’t really consider it "taking away". Jongdae is incredibly controlling and he just wants you to do exactly what he expects from you. So as your relationship progresses, he'll make you more and more dependant on him, making it so it's not him taking away your rights, but you - giving them away on your own.
He likes to treat you like a doll, dressing you up and managing the way your day is supposed to look like. You sleep, you eat, you bathe when he tells you to - and you do it willingly.
He's patient. He'll take his time with you, until you've completely given up your freedom. Isn't it comfortable to be taken care of like this, after all?
S- Stalker: Would they stalk you? How intense would it go?
Chen expects you to always tell him where you go and what you do. In the early stages of your relationship, when he's still suspicious of you, he'll always check all you tell him by following you and seeing if you told him the truth.
He learns to trust you, but it overall leads to making you submit, so that in the end it's you who tells him everything. He doesn't need to stalk you per se.
C - Control - do they take advantage of their powers?
Depends on how you consider this. I see Jongdae as someone very reserved, who’ll avoid conflict if possible, and also a person who will never use their powers against an ally, or a friend, no matter of a situation. I already mentioned in another answer that he’s anything but aggressive and has pretty decent ways of getting blood, so I simply don’t think he’ll ever need to use his powers to gain.
He has a high sense of ethics though, so it may cause him to step in and use his powers to help someone in need, although he’ll avoid it if possible.
I - Intimacy - how fast would they let you close to them? Would they want to share with you what they are?
If you meet accidentally, without you already knowing he’s a vampire, he’ll know that once your relationship develops, he’ll eventually have to admit to you what he is, but he also wants to take his time with it. Jongdae can fall in love hard, but it takes him a lot of time to develop such feelings; he has to be completely sure that he can trust you.
However, if love strikes him suddenly, he may blabber it out by accident.
J - Joke - would they do pranks on other people with the use of their powers?
Maybe! Never something that would hurt someone, though.
On the days when he’s in a particularly good mood he may make flowers appear in front of people out of nowhere; he’ll place them there in the second when they’re not looking to see the confusion, followed by smile, on their faces.
And especially, does he like doing it to you, although you already know how it happened and who did it.
F-Fight, How would they feel if you fought back against them?
Now, although Jongdae considers you an imperfect being that needs to be shaped into a fully obedient one, if you suddenly, after all the time he’d spent brainwashing you, decided to act up, he’d be incredibly mad.
You’re supposed to be a doll, and dolls aren’t supposed to fight with their owners. He feels like he’s failed as an owner, but he also blames you for being a failure of a pet.
He won’t hesitate to slap you in the blind rage. And, although he’s not usually too violent, he’ll find a good way to train you back into your place. He doesn’t like causing you pain, but maybe a few days of being tied down and completely vulnerable, with him feeding you only when he feels like it, with you having to eat from his hands, will teach you who’s in charge here?
H- Hell: What would be your worst experience with them?
I think the previous point actually covers up what would happen. Jongdae is a patient man who wouldn’t hurt you without a reason, but who also doesn’t tolerate disobedience. The example of a punishment he can treat you with is only one of the many options.
He’ll break you, break your body, your soul, and make you crawl to him and beg for his forgiveness.
D-Death, Do they feel any sorrow for their victims at all?
No. Jongdae wouldn’t really kill people without a very good reason, he doesn’t care about them much enough; you’re the only only one he’ll ever focus on and he obviously wouldn’t kill you. But if a situation requires it... Chen is a cold-blooded man. Who knows... maybe he’ll even enjoy it?
