Even though Haru Ichinose had already been assassinated moments before, to the serial killer, it was still...
"...showtime." Those were the words I muttered in a weak whisper before I gave a cold laugh, hiding my scissors behind my back. Ready. That was what I had to be, and I felt more than ready. I felt excited, I felt empowered, I felt superior. Even then, before anything had even started, I could just feel it all. I could feel the pleasure.
Just like I had planned out beforehand, it wasn't long before the doorknob that I waited by began to twist open. My heart leapt at the thought about to come, but I didn't act on it. I needed to put on a different act in the meantime. I needed to act "normal", which was one of the most boring things I could ever go through.
Hands still behind my back, I took a half step into the room, acting surprised when I ran into the barely clothed figure by the door. "Ah! Shiena-chan, I'm sorry!" I immediately apologised, receiving a flustered glare in response.
"Watch it, Otoya. You knew I was in the shower, so what are you doing, trying to get in?" the brunette was quick to question, adjusting her red-framed glasses. Putting on an innocent expression, almost as if I was in thought, I paused.
"I was just going to come in to check something."
"Check something? While I was in the shower? Otoya, what is wrong with you...?!" I could only hold back a laugh at the other' quick temper and ridiculously obvious question. What was wrong with me? There was a lot wrong with me, but my roommate would never understand that. No one would understand that. I let out a giggle.
"Eh~? I wasn't going to peek on you, or anything! I'm not that bad, Shiena-chan!" I cooed, eyes scanning the room for a moment before landing on the prey before me- the prey that would soon become my... "Say, now that you're here, could I show you something?" I asked, hope shining in my emerald eyes in the dim, bathroom light. Since I was standing in the doorway, I made sure to spread my legs as far as they would comfortably go, stopping any means of escape past me. I'm sure the other wasn't thinking anything suspicious of it, anyway.
"Sure, sure..." she muttered, before blinking in curiosity. "Wait, huh? You have something to show me...?" She seemed to be a little slow to catch on, which was disappointing, but I didn't dare speak up. She sighed, rolling her eyes. "Fine, but make it quick, okay? I don't even have proper clothes on yet..."
As those words left her mouth, I could have sworn there was a light blush upon her cheeks. She was glancing away from me though, and missed the deep shade of pink that my own face turned. I didn't care for her lack of clothes- my mind was wandering elsewhere, anticipating the events that would soon become reality.
"That's okay! You've got a towel, that's good enough. I promise I won't take long~" Little did she know, promises were mere words that meant nothing to me.
With another reluctant sigh, the brunette stepped away from me. Though I was quite offended by the action, I knew it was only to allow space for me to enter the room, so I didn't think much of it. Instead, I willingly stepped into the room, making sure to shut the door behind me and conceal my weapons. I didn't want her to freak out after all- not just yet.
"...so what do you want to show me, exactly?" she asked, in an impatient tone. My, it seemed like she forgot she was standing in a room with a well-known serial killer; the dubbed, "21st Century Jack The Ripper!" I almost admired how trusting and oblivious she could really be. Now that the target had been successfully eliminated, I could take down whoever I wanted. Apparently, Shiena wasn't considering such a fact. But that was something that made the experience all that much better.
"Well, you're gonna have to come closer, it's not that big~!" I cheered, innocently twirling the heel of my foot on the floor. Giving a small smile, my eyes darted from my roommate and back to the floor over and over. I could just feel my heartbeat beginning to race. It was almost an unbearably magnificent feeling.
Wearing an unsuspecting scowl, she reluctantly took a step closer to me. "Closer." I ordered, keeping my act on. Ignoring the growl she made, I watched her step closer and closer as I repeated the word, smirking in content once there was barely any space between our upright chests.
"I-Is this close enough for you, yet?!" she complained with a huff. I was just glad she was busy keeping her towel around her body, or else I'm certain she would have hit me by now.
"Hmm..." I made sure to linger on my words and I pretended to think, tapping my foot. "Yup!" was what I exclaimed, earning a relieved sigh from the other girl.
"Stop wasting my time then, Otoya... hurry up." I couldn't control it when my smirk widened across my face, amusement growing at those words. 'I'm wasting your time, huh...? I suppose I really am, since you don't have much time to spend! You won't have aaany time to spend after I'm done with you, Shiena-chaaaaan...'
And after those words, a dark, yet whimsical giggle escaped my lips.
I almost regretted letting it slip, since that's when Shiena started becoming suspicious of me.
Hearing her take sharp breaths, I paused, unable to wipe the smile off my face. "O...Otoya? Are you listening to me...?" she urged on. I had to bite my tongue to hold back another round of laughs. Her oblivious reactions were just way too amusing! "Stop laughing at me, will you...? Cut it out, already..."
"My, your choice of wording really is interesting, Shiena-chan..." At that comment, I couldn't hold myself back any longer. I wasn't about to sit around and wait, when the perfect opportunity was right there, in front of me. Dropping my mask and my playful act, I showed my teeth in an uneven, wide smile, finally allowing myself to stare at the other girl. I could tell by the sudden burst of fear in her eyes that if anything, the look I was giving her looked psychotic.
...which would be an accurate description.
"...O-Otoya...?" She had so much trust and faith in me, I found it almost pitiful. Letting out a low, breathy laugh, I closed the distance between our bodies, staring right into Shiena's eyes. I could feel my pulse through every part of my body as I licked my lips, narrowing my gaze. 'Perfect... just perfect~!' I commented with a fulfilled smirk.
"Say, Shiena-chan, when you said to 'cut it out' earlier, what did you mean...?" Her eye's widened to a point I'd never seen before. She was finally getting the point. Finally.
But there was no escaping now.
I wasn't going to allow it.
"G-Get away from me...! Don't even think about it, Otoya!" she spat, hands glued to her towel as she took hesitant steps backwards. Aw, the sight was almost adorable! She was shivering so much already, and panicking so clearly, and I hadn't even brought out my weapons into view yet. I knew for one thing that unlike the others, killing an assassin would be much more exciting.
"Oops. Too late. I'm already thinking about it..." I whispered, taking larger steps towards the other with each one she took away from me. "...but not only that..." I continued. "...but I'm going to make it happen, not just think about it. After all, you're the only one left that's suited to be my next victim! Doesn't that make you feel special, Shiena-chan~? Ahaha!"
By this point, the brunette was already shaking her head left and right like her life depended on it. Her eyes were wide, limbs were trembling before my own as she stammered and stuttered under her breath. The tough act she always put on was worthless now, and as I finally pulled my arms from behind my back to allow my scissors to shine, her state only worsened.
How very, very pitiful.
"O-Otoya, don't you dare! Don't come any closer...! Don't do this, I trusted you, dammit...!" Oh, what worthless cries and pleas. They were merely pleasant noises and melodies to my ear, and I found myself enjoying them.
"Well, looks like that was your own silly fault..." I brushed off, twirling the objects in my hands as I approached, closer and closer. However, that didn't last for long, as my roommate was quick to collide with the bathroom wall. There really was nowhere to run now- something that made my heartbeat quicken in approval.
"...p-please, don't... I didn't do... you won't... you won't kill me...! L-Leave me alone, don't even touch me with those damn scissors of your's...!"
How pitiful indeed.
"...oops. Too late."
It seemed that as soon as I inserted the ends of the twin blades through Shiena's exposed shoulders, my cheeks weren't the only thing that became coated in a deep, crimson red.
