Christine Pignet, Axel Vicart, Claire Prévost, Maurice Mons et le jeune Tara Römer dans “La Vie est un Long Fleuve Tranquille” d'Etienne Chatiliez (1988), août 2023.
“Over the years, I have come to a realization that when someone dies, what is left of them is their soul and heart. You would think that their heart would remain within their corse, but no, it goes with them. Every dolor, every flutter, every raw memory; I have loved you from life to death and immortality.”
I wrote this for my current WIP called Fallen Ace of Hearts [the one who said it is a dead romanticist poet called Arthur LeRoi--love interest--whose soul has been lingering on the earth for centuries and the only one who can see him is the protagonist, Victor Laurent. It’s an enemies-to-lovers trope and UGH just from that line I’m completely crushed T^T
This is not a spoiler [or probably it is but I don’t care, no one is gonna read my book anyway but] Victor was the one who killed Arthur, and Arthur has been in love with him from the very beginning before Victor knew of him and before Arthur died so like...IMAGINE THE SCENE!
