are disabled people disabled in their dreams? my guess would be sometimes, since my body is often different in my dreams (build, gender, etc), but i don't know if that happens to other people or if it's different for people who have disabled their whole lives (VS somebody who was injured and may have dreams wherein they are abled again).
It depends on the person, and, as you said, when the person was disabled but it's common for disabled people to have dreams where they are able-bodied or at least not as disabled as they are in real life.
I could stand when I was a baby (if you propped me up again something so it wasn't actually standing) and I must have some memory of that because in some dreams I can stand if I'm hunched over and holding something.
This is a little off-topic but there have been times when I've moved to stand up and suddenly remember that I can't stand or walk. I thought it was just a weird thing that only happened to me but I've since met people who have been born disabled and have never been able to walk who have similar experiences. It always happened to me when I was watching TV which, of course, had no disabled people on it, and it's like the normalization of being able bodied is so powerful that if you let your mind slip into the reality that TV presents which is void of representation of your body you actually forget your body exists.
