‘ people are more often good than bad, ’ @vicemirror.
dr. henry jekyll , give us a story and we’ll stick to it.
the doctor has proven to be a good ally so far, giving the hackett’s medicine, hoping to help with the curse, and all the aches and aftermath that came with it. he could easily lose his license ( if he even still had one ; travis hadn’t officially asked, and he didn’t plan to any time soon ), but henry stuck around regardless. bringing an outsider into their business had been risky, but they all trusted the doctor now. glancing henry’s way, his hands on his hips, travis thought about the bodies of the hikers, what they would do with them, how they could cover up their disappearance. the sheriff was in way over his head, but there was nothing he could do about it now.
‘ we’ll tie ‘em to a couple bricks and throw ‘em in the lake, ’ even saying this aloud pained him. was he not supposed to serve and protect? the public, not just his family, who was determined to cover up their mess at any cost. brow furrows. ‘ we won’t need a story. we never saw any hikers, i didn’t even see anyone go by on my patrol. they’re not here, and they never were, ’ eyes finally move to the doctor. ‘ think you can stick to that? ’ @vicemirror.
badge is flashed towards the other man, a practiced flourish of the wrist showing it off and returing it to his pocket in no time flat. sam introduces himself as agent dante, with no further explanation than that he’s with the fbi and that he was there for information. ‘ i just have a few questions about our ongoing investigation involving the deaths happening around the area, ’ professional, calm, sam stares at the other with expectance. ‘ any answers, as well your time, would be gratefully appreciated, ’ @vicemirror.
@vicemirror | ❝ how did you get in? there are servants everywhere. ❞ | enola & dr. jekyll
❛ i think you’ve answered your own question, sir. servants, not a security detail. not trusted confidants. not friends. ❜ enola turns from where she’s tilted over a book, and smiles. it’s warm, and charming, and totally antithetical to the act she’s just been captured engaging in. ❛ it’s alarmingly easy to claim to be newly hired. as it happens, however, i’m not wholly interested in the position of scullery maid, though i think you’ll find my qualifications are exceedingly impressive. ❜
