Oh great, here come the innuendos :)
This is my Vick Audio 73 Ram’s Head Big Muff pedal. The Electro-Harmonix Big Muff fuzz/distortion has had a long history and its circuit (and thus, the sound it makes) has varied since its creation. In 1973, the Ram’s Head version of the Big Muff was released. It had a smooth, scooped tone that has been used on a plethora of albums. I got this in my desire to have a Big Muff that emulated the Ram’s Head tones of the immortal David Gilmour of Pink Floyd on later albums like The Wall and A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The current Big Muff just doesn’t do it for me. This pedal, however, is phenomenal. It even has a switch that controls the Mid frequencies, fixing the common problem where the scooped sound of the Big Muff makes it hard to hear your guitar in a band setting. If you want a modern clone of a vintage Muff, look no further.
