New!!! TC Electronic (@tcelectronic) PolyTune 3 (with Bonafide buffer) * * * http://bit.ly/2oSMT4f * * * #tcelectronic #polytune #3 #tuner #tunerpedal #effectsdatabase #fxdb (on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2pvpGZE)
A friend of mine keeps suggesting I get one of these, that a clip-on tuner isn't enough. One of these days, I'm going to break down and take his advice!
What I'd give for some of those pedals, especially the Civil War Big Muff and the Space Echo!
This year, we’re celebrating the Cry Baby Wah’s 50th anniversary. Believe it or not, there actually was a time when there was no wah wah. It’s hard to imagine guitar music without the vocal, squawky, yow-y sounds that the wah pedal can produce. But it’s true. There wasn’t always wah. Someone had to invent it. Someone did, and things have never been the same. Get the full story on the pedal that changed music history. Head over to our blog in the lifestyle section of our site. Link in bio.

The next pedal I intend to get is a wah! I simply haven't gotten to it yet, but when I do, you can bet it will be a crybaby!
A demonstration of a good, dirty phaser tone!
In this clip I am playing some of Led Zeppelin’s “The Rover”. The signal chain is as follows: Guitar -> Boss SD1 Super Overdrive -> MXR Super Badass Distortion (as cleanish boost) -> EHX Small Stone Phaser. The Drive pedals give the guitar its grind, and the slower phaser gives it a swirl that demands to be noticed without turning the guitar into an all-out phased nightmare.
‘Been using these for years and I’m still convinced they’re the best picks on earth. I own every boutique pick you can imagine, and these own them all.’ -Francesco Filigoi — @francescofiligoi #DunlopPicks #Tortex #TIII #JimDunlop #PerformanceIsEverything http://ift.tt/2pjvp2F
I can confirm, Tortex picks are among the best picks on the market!
Lmao, if only it worked that way!
One of my favorite uses for the Hendrix Fuzz Face is as a slightly dirty tone with the guitar’s volume rolled off!
In the clip, I am playing some of Hendrix’s own “Hey Joe”. How better to show off the Hendrix Fuzz Face than with a Hendrix tune? I believe I had my guitar volume somewhere between 3 and 6 for this clip, showing how the Fuzz Face interacts with your guitar, accentuating certain frequencies even when it isn’t all out fuzz.
A demonstration of my Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini!
In this clip I am playing part of the solo from Pink Floyd’s “Time”. You can hear me roll up the volume on my guitar, increasing the gain as I go into the solo. About halfway through the clip you hear me add the BOSS RV-3 for some delay, giving the sound more depth!
Manson Monday Family Photo Day! Some NEW Arrivals from @mansonguitarworks and @mattbellamy of Muse. Come check some of them out in either of our locations. #burbank #shermanoaks #manson #mansonguitars #mansonmonday #muse #mattbellamy #mathewbellamy #guitar #guitarshop #mansondealer #guitarist #music #musician #gear #love #picoftheday #instagood #toys #fun # (at Imperial vintage guitars)
Beautiful! Muse was one of the reasons I started learning guitar. Matt Bellamy's Mansons are some of the greatest guitars I've ever seen!
This Tube Screamer must have gotten a lot of love, it looks like it's been through hell and back!
Stacked gain is the best gain!
In this clip, I am playing the main riff from Led Zeppelin’s “No Quarter”. The signal chain is as follows: Guitar -> Fuzz Face -> Boss SD1 Super Overdrive -> MXR Super Badass Distortion (as cleanish boost). This results in a super compressed, dark, kick-ass rock tone. Following the riff, you get an idea of the INSANE amount of sustain you can get from this kind of stacking of gain pedals!
CASCADING FUZZ!!!!
My belief is that you can never have too much fuzz. This clip shows my Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini (a silicon fuzz) running into my Keeley Fuzz Head (in germanium mode). In it, I play the main riff from Blue Oyster Cult’s “Godzilla”. There is quite a bit of background noise with both of these pedals on, making them a little difficult to tame, but that’s the beauty of the sound! It is pure, untamed, monstrous, fuzz madness!
This is a demonstration of how I commonly use the Keeley Fuzz Head!
For this clip I played the main riff from Pink Floyd’s “Interstellar Overdrive”. I usually keep it in Germanium mode with the fuzz all the way up and the volume usually somewhere between noon and 3 o’clock. This produces a loud fuzz tone which is actually more like a fuzzy overdrive. It’s perfect for vintage drive sounds!
A demonstration of one of my favorite settings of the MXR Univibe!
I am playing the chord progression of The Animals’ “House of the Rising Sun”. This clip is in the Vibe mode, which puts out only the pitch-shifted signal (as opposed to the chorus mode, which blends a pitch-shifted signal with the dry signal). Setting the rate and depth high produces a warbling, wobbling tone similar to that of an organ through a Leslie speaker, perfect for old classic rock tunes!
This is a small demonstration of multiple pedals on at once for a truly massive sound!
I am playing Pink Floyd’s “Sorrow”. The signal chain is as follows:
Guitar -> Vick Audio 73 Ram’s Head -> MXR Super Badass Distortion (as cleanish boost) -> Neo Clone (shallow setting) -> Boss RV-3 (hall reverb and delay) -> stereo to Vox AC15 and Orange Crush 35RT.
This video is a demonstration of my BOSS RV-3 Digital Reverb/Delay pedal!
I am playing the main riff from Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun”. I play it dry first, then add the RV-3. I apologize for the video being upside down, I don’t really know why or how that happened. Enjoy!
