Hello there!

So, I wanted to share that I got your books like a million years ago, read them immediately, then lended them to a friend of mine around late 2019 and never got them back because of the pandemic, and them she had a kid, and got married, and I never seemed to be able to visit again (she lives in another city)...

ANYWAY, long story short, I finally got my books back last week when I visited her for her birthday and I immediately re-read A Year in The Cellar on my way back home and I'm now slowly enjoying Lux once again.

I just re-read that drabble where Lux remembers and misses being comforted and loved by the Hunter after listening to the song he used to hum playing in a commercial and by God, that is still one of my favorite things you have ever wrote.

You've made some incredible arcs that blew my mind, but I think as a standalone, this is my favorite Lux piece of all time, just wanted to tell you that...

this means so much to me! i’ve seen your name in my notes for years and i always get excited when i see you pop up. also, the fact that you liked my books enough to share them with a friend is like one of the highest compliments i’ve gotten.

ohhh, now you’ve got me thinking about lux and the hunter and comfort and recovery backslides… 😈

do you cry? why or why not?

I´ve cried in the middle of class, then was asked to solve a problem on the board, solved it and went back to my seat and continued to cry. I honestly don´t remember what was I even crying about back then lol. Lately? Yeah, quite often. I will cry for the smallest things honestly. Don´t mind it.

what is a skill or talent you’ve completely lost or overlooked? why did that happen?

Reading with noise. I used to be able to read a 600 page book in a few days while in class with my classmates legit screaming and throwing used condoms around. I have an scar from a time someone dropped water on my book and I tried chasing them to get them to apologize and accidentally scratched my thigh with a loose nail.

I think generally, Ive lost the skill of being able to concentrate despite the noise. I hear music in like 2/100 because any further is annoying and makes my anxiety worse.

I think it´s a bit of sensory overload and having the fear of hypervigilance. (still working on that)

12) Is nature sensory heaven or a sensory nightmare for you?

Honestly depends? I have hayfever so the outside world makes me sneeze a lot and I don’t like having insects crawling on me but lying down in a grassy field is really nice and I love bodies of water so, you win some you lose some.

19) Do you prefer proprioceptive or vestibular input?

I had to google that because I wasn’t sure what each of those entailed but uh probably proprioceptive? As a kid I used to like hanging upside down and swings and being picked up but like now I mostly just like being pinned down and being hugged tightly and people playing with my hair.

20) What would be in your dream sensory room or space? 

So in my primary school we had this sensory room called the den and that was pretty funky. I guess it would be a nice enclosed space, like a tent or a blanket fort (when I was a kid I had an ikea pirate fort with cushions inside it) and it would have some beanbags and cushions and maybe some stim toys and snacks and music,,, that would probably be nice,, but honestly I vibe in my room just on my bed a lot and it’s pretty good too.
