a seduction of the senses.
The first thing you have to understand is that there is nothing you can do. I’m sorry, but I can’t help you here. It is much more powerful than any mental facility life could have prepared you with. It is outside of this plane, outside of this dimension, even. There is no way you can fight it.
And it knows that you are absolutely helpless.
So it takes its time. It plays with you. Like a game, like a dance.
First, it presents itself in little ways. You might even glance over it once or twice without paying it any mind. A stray thought here and there, a wandering daydream that seems out of place. Everything is fine, no reason to fear. It’s got its foot in the door, and now you’re going to pay.
Second, it starts making itself louder. The stray thought becomes a full, quiet discourse. It becomes a path that you, of your own volition, decide to walk. You look and you gawk at the thoughts that seemed to be hidden all your life, thinking yourself to be protected by some kind of moral shield as you stare in utter horror at the…the things.
And it knows it’s got you good, now. Real, real good.
So it starts to fuck with you. Really fuck with you – it makes you an addict. You keep thinking about those horrors, those beasts, those..things and it makes you start to think about it more. And more. And more and more until you find yourself spending hours in a dark room just obsessing over it. There is no longer a moment were those thoughts are silent. No longer a moment where they aren’t clawing at the back of your head, demanding you let them free.
And that path from before? You visit frequently. You watch and drool over the forest of atrocities in your own mind, and it teaches you how to twist and warp the monsters to something that truly reflects your most lecherous desires. And you love every second. It provides a release beyond anything you’ve ever felt before.
It convinces you that these implanted nightmares have always been there, and that you created them. It convinces you that you are the disgusting villain and you like it.
That’s the worst part, I think. ‘Cause then you really do start to enjoy it. It makes itself appealing in every way possible, and it’s always there so there’s no way to escape it.
After that it get’s gruesome. It’s had fun, but now it wants you. It never forgets the goal. It secludes you on that savage path and it changes you. It thrusts you laughingly into that dark forest and all those sadistic, bloodthirsty, barbarian thoughts you grew and indulged in so lovingly before– they surround you.
Suddenly, you are facing yourself: The very definition of depravity.
Anyone you were before is utterly lost to a void of decadent pleasure unknown to man and beast alike. Your body and mind is left a malleable lump of flesh and sin. A tool for agents of evil.
