HELLO ITS BEEN A WHILE I wanted to show some older art of a character I made!! she was a would-be pathfinder character for a campaign, based on the real life pigeon Cher Ami :). in historical times he was a messenger pigeon during WWI who carried a note regarding the location of stranded soldiers, saving 200 men in the process. he suffered a shot off leg and a missing eye from enemy forces, but continued on regardless; he was also the FIRST pigeon given a medal of valor for his actions :)
I love birds, and I find that story so moving, and I also just really enjoy Lahore pigeons, so I thought... why not make a character inspired by these details and the fall pigeons have experienced in recent times. they went from being war heroes we loved and adored to being labeled "rats with wings" and I find that crazy.
anyway here's Cher Ami! a war veteran turned monster hunter that I will maybe yap more about whenever I draw more of her
yes I know that "Cher" is the masculine version! that was purposeful, it's a nickname she gained during her service
