Video Vision Board: Arthur Mitchell

I had a black man “condescendingly” ask me why anyone would think of putting a dance school in an urban community.

“What benefit is that, who has access to that?”

I said “haven’t you heard of pioneers like Arthur Mitchell who built the first dance school that taught classical ballet to African Americans?” “Purposely making it affordable and accessible to the community in which he was brought up”
