[Leaves a note for him on her bed, hoping that he would see it whenever he woke up. It says "I am sorry that I will not be beside you when you wake up, but I do promise that I will be back soon. I have a few loose ends to take care of. ~Lara"]
Loki knocked on the door of Lara's room, waiting to hear the rustle of movement behind it. When none came he knocked again with a sharper rapping on the wood. After a few minutes had past he half turned to leave before stopping, he rested his hand on the handle, pressing down. He was surprised when he wasn't met with the lock, instead it swung open.
"Lara?" His voice rang out into the still silence of her bedroom, his brow furrowed when he saw the room was empty and stepped in. The sight of the note caught his attention instantly, he snatched up the piece of paper, his eyes drinking in the words.
He sank onto the edge of the bed, a hand rubbing over his jaw as he sighed inwardly. A part of him wished he knew what she had to do, how long exactly he'd be waiting. Most of all he wished she came back to him safe, his troubled eyes stared out of the window in her room, the note crumpling in his hand slightly.
"Just be safe." He whispered to the emptiness where none would hear him.
