Here’s an old shot of me in an alternate promo poster at time of pre production of A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors - ViD had an integral role in the horror franchise but the powers that be thought ViD to be a distraction from the main protagonist, Freddy Krueger. As much as Robert Englund tried to change the producers minds, ViD eventually saw the cutting room floor when his part was entirely CG’d out and replaced by - the black dude in the scrap car yard dream sequence scene. But of course this is a lie. We all know ViD would never sell out like that. ViD’z woke PC approach to his acting roles was evident even back then in the 80’s, where he made it clear he would not play that of an African American no matter how much cash they stuffed under his dirty ol’ mattress. ViD himself has since stated the whole affair was nothing but an outrageous publicity stunt and the truth of it was that he simply had scheduling conflicts whilst shooting another movie. Which brings us to next week’s Video Nasty... what film’s Deleted Scene will ViD be cut from next?
