So I just read your fics "Guilt" and "Safe Word" and now my brain has been infected with Thoughts about this ship, and have been wondering if you have any headcanons on how a long-term relationship of Hiccup and Viggo's would go if Viggo lived past Triple Cross??? 👀👀No pressure tho!!
It would definitely be interesting! I’d write Hiccup and Astrid as polyamorous for this. Of course, that doesn’t mean there couldn’t be cheating going on, but I don’t want cheating here, so Hiccup would try his best to communicate his feelings about Viggo to Astrid… after he comes to recognize them for what they are.
I would see Hiccup start coming to terms with his feelings while they’re nursing Viggo back to health. There would definitely be guilt here for him, probably not over the having feelings for multiple people at once thing, but for having feelings for someone who caused so much pain and suffering for not only himself, his friends, and his people, but other dragons and people. It would definitely be a moral conflict for Hiccup. Astrid would probably be upset for the same reason.
Hmmm, I know there could be wholesome and fluffy stuff in a Viggo Lives AU like this, but it would definitely start out with a lot of strife and conflict. I’ve never really written Viggo/Hiccup/Astrid.
Berk’s first polyamorous marriage! I could see Viggo/Astrid maybe even happening in this, so it wouldn’t just be Hiccup as the hinge.
Hiccup would have extra support during the events of HTTYD 2 and his father’s death. I could also see him just being a stronger chief with both Viggo and Astrid on his side.
Also, because I must: the sex would be insane. It would be so fun, probably for everyone involved. I can see Astrid and Viggo taking pleasure in teaming up on teasing/tormenting Hiccup.

Viggo teasing Hiccup about his girlfriend pegging him is not something I knew I needed in my life till now. I am smirking. Just like Viggo is. This is great. I love it.
