for every “⏳” I receive, my muse will openly talk about a bit of their backstory / accepting.
“Have I ever told you about the time I nearly—accidentally—killed my audience?” He chuckles like it’s not just a little disturbing; the memory’s a little hazy now, and time’s made it more of an amusement than a cautionary tale.
“This was just before I entered the academy, and the very reason I chose to go in the first place. As a child, eating was normal so I never questioned my hunger. You see, even after I left my parents’ estate, I found it fairly easy to make enough money to afford food—or my clients would buy it for me.”Rose doesn’t talk about his (former) family often; they’ve not been part of his life since he was little more than a child.“I never realised it was a sign of power even though I saw shinigami fairly often.”
“I was always fascinated by music, but I didn’t notice for a while that I could captivate people with it. As I grew older and played more and more, my skills became greater and I drew more of an audience.”
“One evening, I was playing in a tavern and let myself get a little more lost in the melody than I usually did,” there’s a vague, amused smirk on the visored’s lips as he remembers the tune, “and there were fermatas—pauses in the music. Apparently, my audience couldn’t breathe whenever they occurred. I only noticed when a couple of patrons collapsed and a shinigami who was watching suggested I stop playing after that song.”
“Fortunately, Love was a lieutenant then and hadn’t been as affected as the rest of them~”
