Hi, Professor Morris. I was told that I should get in contact with each of my new professors about finals. So I wanted to know what you wanted me to do for class and the like.
Plot: They talk about schedules and how Desmond could catch up.
Desmond grumbled as he walked toward Vikki's office, his hands deep in his pockets. He had known that this would come up; of course, it would he's going to be one of her students after all, but...well him bumping into Alex went fine. The could be fine too. All they were doing was talking about classes anyhow. He just had to stay focused on that and everything would be fine.
Vikki set up a bit of a lesson plan for Desmond after their exchange through email, this was going to take a lot of time to get him caught up in such a short space of time but she knew she had to be his teacher, not the woman Alex chose. "Come on in Desmond." Vikki indicated to the seat in front of her desk.
Desmond took a deep breath and held it for a bit as he went to sit in the seat, probably a lot stiffer than he had intended. He cleared his throat a bit. "Thanks for meeting with me like this...I know I came in really late an everything. My old majors just...really aren't going to be that helpful to me in the long run."
Vikki nodded and leaned forward to set the papers in front of him. "Art is art, but this is filmmaking and we're weeks from finals, I'm gonna try and get you caught up as much as possible and so will the other filmmaking teacher when I can't. You'll probably like him a lot more than me." She pushed the file a bit closer to him. "This outlines my lesson plans for the last semester and a half, what I talked about, she homework I set, the practicals we did. I don't head up the animation department myself but I have taught a thing or two about cell animation."
Desmond nodded slowly as she talked; he had thought about waiting until the new semester started or taking summer courses but as time went on he had worried that he would have made it back at all. Which would have been sad, to say the least. "Okay," he picked up the file, looking over the papers quickly, mulling over his work schedule in the process. "So the weekends are a 'no', right?"
Vikki shrugged a little. "Not a complete no, but I live off campus now so we have to factor the journey in," she explained. "I suppose I could do a couple of hours on a Sunday if you really needed it."
Desmond chewed on the inside of his cheek again. "You live off campus...how far," he asked. "I mean...I could make due with just two days a week I think."
Vikki tapped her pen on the desk. "A couple of miles out in the woods." she gave him enough information. "If you think you can get caught up two days a week... if not, we can add an extra day on the weekends."
Desmond wrinkled his brow a bit. That really didn't tell him much about her commute. He looked back through all the assignments. "I think so...I mean, if I can't then you'll be one of the first to know." He tried to give her a small smile. "Thanks, professor."
Vikki nodded and wrote down the address before handing to him. "Here's the address but please call first if you need the extra tutoring. My number is on the back of that."
Desmond took the slip, proud of himself that he had made it through. "Okay, I'll try not to be too much trouble." He moved to stand. "I'll...see you Wednesday?"
Vikki smiled a bit. "Of course, see you then Desmond." she gave him a bit of a wave.
