carnival on the brain...

Thinking a lot about 2020 being my first year properly taking part in Carnival - joining a band, playing mas, going to all the fetes, etc. Specifically trying to go to #Vincymas2020 and so I've been researching!! I realized I'm a dummy who knows nothing but after some IG browsing & googling, I've narrowed down the two most popular bands at least and have a sense of the average cost for their Frontline & Backline looks in each section.

I'm realizing though that I have no idea what to base my decision around - do people just pick whichever band has the cuter costumes? Are there other factors I should consider? I think the bands are launching this month so I'm keeping my eyes peeled but I also want to like ... be aware.

Looking at the 2019 looks, one band had a cuter theme (candy) but I didn't really like any of the designs (and they were also pricier). The other one had some REALLY cute looks:

Even if I don't play mas, the parties alone will be so much fun that it's not like I'll be missing out or anything. So I'm actually looking forward to hopefully being able to attend.
