While Lionflicker had no special standing prior to the flood, her new second in command certainly did- among the flashy cats of the now-gone JayClan, Vinedusk was a cat whose bold exploits inspired no small amount of awe. Though Vinedusk fancied the prestige that came with responsibility, she never was quite ready for a position of more power in JayClan- and now finds herself named deputy under much less ideal circumstances.

Vinedusk, used to doing largely as she pleased, chafes against the tighter rein that the more fretful Lionstar keeps her on- nothing like her previous, more permissive, leader. She is both emotionally volatile after the flood, and one of the most competent cats the fledgeling clan has left, simply by default. It is a burden she is still learning to bear well.

The first moon! I'll be updating these posts with proper links as I start posting more, but for now moons will be tagged as "moon 0," "moon 1," and so forth.

Starting off with a new warrior and kits on the way already! I did not realize that I had the "unknown second parent" setting selected, but Lionstar turning up pregnant at the very start of the run was a quick reminder!

As always, let me know if there are any visibility or readability issues and I'll do my best to adjust accordingly. Also feel free to send asks with character questions- some I might answer in text, and some with extra little comics if the mood strikes!

Moon 2 is here! Apologies once again for the wait, I got interrupted many many times while working on it and am so stoked it's finally done ^^

For the first few moons it is my intention to try and show all of the cats at least once, while the clan is at a manageable size, to both get myself used to drawing them and to acquaint everyone with at least a bit of their character.

This moon wound up featuring Vinedusk quite heavily- but we also got some snippets of information from Thrushdawn! And a namedrop of his clan from before the flood- ThornClan! I might be a bit cagey with certain details about the pre-flood clans for story reasons but will do my best to answer any asks about them in a non-spoilery fashion.

and so it begins! An introduction to our starting lineup, and the circumstances that brought them together.

If anyone happens by with questions about individual cats or the flooding I will do my best to answer! I'm still nailing down a few worldbuilding details but have enough of a picture in my mind that I feel ready to start up with the story.

A bit of conversation that took place following moon 1.

If you'll recall, Vinedusk said some cruel things to Nimbletooth at her naming ceremony. they were paired as mentor and apprentice for only a moon, since Nimble was for all intents and purposes a fully fledged warrior at Cliffclan's formation. Vinedusk's remarks still stung, though- as the deputy and most senior warrior of the new clan, Nimble did look up to her a bit. She hadn't exactly had an abundance of good examples in her old clan prior to the flood- but more on that in future updates ;)
