Hi! What exactly is Vinnie's story? How was her universe like?

ok vinnie is a bit of a Story (tm) so strap innn (ive needed to write this down so thank youuuu for the ask !!!)

Elvina Parker Queen (or, Vinnie to most, Alvin to Lucas, El to Dallas, Vin to everyone else)

to sum up easily - her story is very lucy gray core but with more riches

On her earth there was less of a technological and business takeover and more of a royal takeover. Instead of Merlyn and Queen arguing over city control with earthquake machines and tech suits, they were battling a patriarchy type situation. The Merlyn family (on her earth, all evil bad men) didn't like that the Queen family (Mostly women) had control so naturally... war within the city.

Vin's father is Justin Hartley's Oliver because... I saw an edit of Ollie with The Archer and it meshed so well with the theme and narrative of Vin's storyline that he just became the perfect choice for this.

Also the original idea for Vin was she was only gonna be Felicity's alt-earth daughter and not related to Oliver at all so it worked out storywise for Olicity AND still being Felicity-centered -- plus the added angst of "ok i have a version of my mom back but i'll never have another version of my dad"

Because her Oliver is different than the arrowverse Oliver, she lives with Daniel Morgan but we'll get to that later.

The families had been at war for as long as she can remember but when she was around 14, her parents were killed. She was sent to live with her aunt to protect her (only child, sole heir to the city, etc), but after her parents were killed she felt so inclined to step up and do something. She joined an underground revolution group in the Glades (Ran by Daniel Morgan after his wife was killed, making him a single father to his daughter Dahlia (Dallas) Morgan.). Her aunt didn't want her involved, and Daniel didn't want Dallas involved, so naturally they both became best friends with dead parent(s) and started their own smaller revolution group for the kids that have also lost so much under Danny's.

After a few years of training, Vin and Dallas were a force together. Daniel died in an attack and the girls took over the original group of outcasts and fighters. The battle was NOWHERE near close to being done but they had a great group and somewhere deep down they thought they'd win.

Vin started dating Lucas (a boy whose parents were killed, leaving him to take care of his younger brother (unnamed)) and the duo became a trio.

Somewhere down the line, Luke's brother was taken by a Merlyn and the only way he could get him back was to give up the location of the revolution group AND the last heirs to the Queen control (Vin and her aunt) If they were out of the picture, the Merlyn's would win and the war would be over. The city would just have to build itself back together under a new control. Not an ideal situation but they had Luke's brother and he ratted them out.

The underground hive was raided, Vin found out Lucas betrayed her, she ran to her aunt to try to save her before someone got there. But by the time she arrived, there was already a fight happening. Her aunt -- somehow, undecided really -- opened up a portal and pushed Vin through it right before she died.

And now we have a Vinnie on OUR earth.

A short story of her arrival --

She was pushed out into an alleyway where Danny was walking home from somewhere and she obviously looked hurt and confused and scared so he took her to the hospital. When she realized who he was, or who he looked like, she instantly trusted him. Tommy Merlyn was the doctor Danny took her to (naturally) and she thought he was some clone sent to kill her so she stole Danny's gun and took off down the halls of the hospital.. After a struggle, and getting shot in the arm, Danny got her to calm down.

They realized she was from an alt earth quickly and he took her to the Queens but she didn't feel comfortable with any of it -- doppelganger of the mom she lost and some man who had the same name as her father but wasn't him. (again, naturally) she trusted Danny despite the Merlyn thing so he took her to his place with his niece and she stayed there.

Since then, she's given more trust to the Queen family, they accept her, they love her, but they let her come around when she's comfortable. Miriam is the most pushy for a relationship due to curiosity (They along with Owen have the same birthday so they've been passed off as triplets and Felicity continues to gaslight everyone about it)

Along with that, Dallas and Lucas have also showed up from her earth. Lucas made her believe he wasn't from her earth when he arrived because he knew he hurt her and wanted to figure out how to apologize before approaching, Dallas immediately approached her but didn't tell Danny she was his daughter until MONTHS later.

OKAY OKAY Lucas and Nik get injured and end up with Danny for safety purposes, Vin gets upset because he's her safe space and feels betrayed by him for letting Lucas in but Dallas tells her everything he did to get here for her and how his brother died (mayhaps it's never permanent we decide later) so after some stewing Vin has a normal conversation with him

Look I can see Lucas struggling to like stuff his duffle, because he knows this is hurting Vin, and he'd rather risk infection on the streets than be the reason she is in pain again.

She comes into the room and sees him putting in the last of his stuff.

"What do you think you're doing?" He sighs, knowing he can't make up an excuse. "What does it look like? I'm getting out of your way." "I never said I wanted you to go." "Maybe not to my face, princess, but we both know you would like it better if I found other accommodations." "I told you to stop calling me that." Only she's not sure if she actually had. Lucas was the only one who had ever called her 'princess'. The moniker was technically hers, but she had never felt like it fit. She had never even seen the inside walls of the Queen castle. She had believed herself a commoner a lot longer than she had known the truth. He met her gaze then nodded. "As you wish. But still I should go." "Don't be stupid, you can barely more your arm," she gestured to him as he tried to move his duffle from the bed. "You could make that worse if you leave." "And if I stay, I'm gonna hurt you worse. And I can't be the reason you're in anymore pain," he shook his head and she can see the tears he's fighting back. "So I'll find something else, somewhere else." "You think leaving is going to cause me less pain?" "Vin--" She moved to him, taking the bag and tossing it to the side. "No. If you leave, and something bad happens to you, what do you think that's gonna do to Dallas, to me?" "I thought you wanted me gone?" "I never said that." "You sure as hell have acted like it." He winced, and she didn't know if it was out of pain or the reality of his words. So Vin did the one thing she could think to do get him to stay. She reached across the space, a couple of inches that felt like lightyears, and took his hand. "I wanted you to be able to go back. I wanted you not to be working for Merlyn, to stop yourself from turning in Thea. I wanted you to be able to erase the things that drove us apart." "If I could--" "Let me finish, please," Vin took her other hand so she could turn his face to hers. "I know we can't go back. I know the things you did, they'll always be there. And I wish I could tell you that they won't keep me at arms length, but I can't. What I do know is, even if I didn't want to admit it, when you were shot I was terrified that I would never see you again." "I'm right here," he said, squeezing her fingers. "You weren't though," she shook her head. "For an hour I thought, I thought you weren't going to make it. I thought, this is it? This is one of my only tethers to home, just cut. No valiant roar, no fighting tooth and nail to stay, just you, gone. And it felt like losing my parents all over again, but so much worse." "You and Dallas are my only connections to home," she continued with a sad smile. "And if you die, I don't think I could handle that for real." "Princess..." "So stay," she pressed. "Maybe it's selfish, but stay anyway. Because if you leave, I'm going to imagine the worst. You promised me once that you would never leave my side, and you'd always protect me. And if you leave--"
