- in my original post of her I stupidly said she was Clef’s supervisor she is NOT she is merely an assistant slash secretary for him. I dunno why I was under the impression that meant some form of assistant 😭 girl can’t even manage herself forget Clef
- before Clef she was bouncing between assistant positions doing stuff for nothingburger researchers so when she heard she was eventually gonna be working for theeee Alto Clef she was lowkey shitting herself. but Andrea popped up and was like hey. lemme tell you some things beforehand. just like warning her about his antics and what to expect. this was her most important position yet so she was just following Andrea around like a lost puppy listening to her instructions

pre-Foundation lore
Vinnie had a boyfriend she met in high school and they stayed together until she was 25. she ended up getting pregnant from him. he left as a result because he didn’t want kids. Vinnie quickly got over the break up as she was overjoyed at the fact she became a mother and all her attention went to her baby. she named her baby Felicity, after her mother who had passed away when she was 14.
however, the baby ended up passing away at 4 months old due to sudden infant death syndrome and this sent her into a depressive spiral and triggered her to start binge drinking. luckily, Vinnie’s father was there for her. some days she could not get out of bed or do anything, and he was there to take care of her. if it wasn’t for him she would probably have died.
because of this, she is jealous of staff in the Foundation that are parents, especially Clef since she works under him, and (following my AU), she sees him interact with his daughters on a daily basis. it’s not that she hates him, seeing this just brings back the painful memory of Felicity’s death and reminds her of her failed chance at being a mother. this is also partly the reason she is an alcoholic, as drinking makes her forget about her past and the emotions attached to it.
how the Foundation found her
the Foundation found her after she was caught in the middle of an anomalous incident in a train station when she was 28. she witnessed a reality bending anomaly causing havoc and considering her circumstances at the time (heavy drinker, mentally fucked up from losing her baby), she genuinely thought she was hallucinating and believed none of it was real. this made her react calmly in the situation and evade being killed. the Foundation picked up on this and considered her useful, and instead of wasting resources on amnesticising her, offered her a job. having nothing to lose, she accepted. she thought she’d end up doing something interesting and coming into contact with the anomalies themselves, but instead they stuck her as a desk jockey slash coffee runner and that was pretty underwhelming for her
