Im ngl they are really growing on me, as is vintage as a character. definitely not in my top 10 ships but i liek them beyond just them being exes

i hc that skull and vintage dated before the team broke up so they ended up breaking up too because vintage thought skull wanted to leave him too. and skull thought that vintage hated him as a result of his reaction to his wish to make a new team and since he always felt really distant (bc of another hc of vintage in relationships that i have in which he has a lot of rules to protect himself and his reputation when he's dating someone and his s/o's do their best to respect that even though it might strain their relationship to various degrees depending on the person) so that must've meant he wanted to leave him but didn't have the courage to tell him his "true feelings" until now

and like after skull and vintage got back from the hero mode missions with gloves and goggles they talked about their relationship and vintage tells skull that he still has feelings for him and he kind of wishes they didn't break up and skull just sits there like "b.but wait i thought you hated me"

and after a bit of talking their both realized they still really liked each other romantically and that neither of them actually wanted to break up with the other and vintage ends up getting really emotional and tries to hide his face because he doesnt want people in the ramen shop to see him crying so skull gives him his bandana to hide his face with/clean his tears with and he realizes "holy shit skull is serious about his feelings" because he doesn't give anyone his bandana let alone take it off in public for them

and then they go back to dating and have a healthy relationship and do their best to work through miscommunications to reach mutual understanding :)
