Hips jokes aside, it's so clear that Mingi takes femininity seriously, not as something degrading or humiliating, not as something silly (like Yunho might have) or cringy (like San might have). He respects femininity, and what femininity represents in a choreography like this: sensuality, power, confidence.

He grew up doing Girl Crush/girl empowerment concepts, him being Hyuna was just a natural progression.

I imagine that when he suddenly shot up to 6ft1 and became super beefy, with a deep voice, he thought his gg days were over, that he would look ridiculous. But instead of telling Seonghwa "no", or making the choreo into a parody, he worked hard to adapt his new body to the choreo, he changes his lines, he made his movements softer, and he enjoyed every second of it.

He was not "committed to the bit", because this wasn't a bit for him. This was an artistic performance. Bravo 💗

i am gonna be a bit of a bitch and like. look i love yunho even though I also really like to kick him when hes down, but i dont like this thing he does when he goes live to be like 'i should do the youtube thing with mingi' or 'i was the one that came up with trouble maker' like.. its not a good look, babes.

because on one hand, I would be really interested to see yunho do trouble maker, but when when he reenacted it with wooyoung, it just kinda showed me why he couldn't. he would've made a parody of it, the way boygroups have done for years. i dont mean this negatively, but its always been a skit or a bit when boygroups do trouble maker with other guys?

and i think one of the amazing things about hwagi trouble maker is that it takes these two performers, whose skill is performance above anything else, and they took it seriously and did it with sincerity. it takes a generous partner to both give the hyuna part to someone else, and it takes a lot of trust to DO the hyuna part and put faith in that your partner isnt going to make fun of you for doing it.

the POINT is that mingi was the least expected to do hyuna, and that he took it seriously with his tallness and broadness and deep, low voice. and seonghwa took him seriously as it, and understood that the point was that mingi was taller than him, broader than him, and therefore didn't met mingi with any posturing to emasculate mingi in order to go 'no homo!!!'.

i really dont know if anyone else could've done it like them, and i am pretty pissy about yunho kinda nakedly being like 'i shouldve been the one' because sorry babe. it wouldnt have been the same.

Fuzzie Fox

Wow, I actually got this done today.

So here’s Etta as the Fox holder. I imagine her causing all sorts of trouble with her illusion powers, maybe trying to use them to get out of trouble by blaming it all on the Sapotis. Her and Trixx would probably honestly get along a little too well.

As a side note, I keep coming up with a bunch of cool sounding names for these guys—then I remember that they’re kids and that they have no class. I know way too many second graders at this point to think otherwise. So her name is an adjective and the literal animal that she is. Sigh. Because it probably would be.

This one took me a bit longer to draw because I wasn’t sure how to capture her personality as well as the others so far. She’s pretty much indistinguishable from her twin, so I also wanted to keep that as a thing while giving her subtle differences. Also, while I was drawing her I forgot about the white tummy section and had already water colored her in, and so that’s why her tummy looks more grey than white. I was considering pretending that was intentional, but I’m just happy I managed to get that much opacity with White watercolor, because watercolors don’t really get lighter easier once they’ve been applied.
